Quorum Sensing in Staphylococcus aureus
...Show More Authors

Staphylococci are common commensals in human beings, yet certain species are pathogenic. Staphylococcus aureus, particularly, is a very virulent human pathogen. The capacity of staphylococci to sense the density of bacterial cell, i.e., quorum, and thereafter respond via genetic modifications is attributable to one primary mechanism known as accessory gene regulator (Agr). Agr's extracellular signal is a peptide that is posttranslationally modified with a thiolactone molecule. Agr is in charge of the upregulation of numerous exotoxins and hydrolyzing enzymes, as well as the downregulation of many colonization determinants, under circumstances of high cell density. This modulation is critical for the scheduling synthesis of virulence determinants throughout the infection course and the establishment of acute illness, whereas low Agr activity is linked to persistent staphylococcal infections, such as biofilm development. Moreover, Staphylococcal Accessory Regulator Aِ (SarA) controls the establishment of biofilm in S. aureus that hinders the production of nuclease and protease via triggering the P2 and P3 promoters resulting in the activation of RNAII and RNAIII, respectively. SarA also endures the transcription of agrA and saeS, and many virulence determinants including hla, hlb, and hlg coding α-, β-, and γ-hemolysins, respectively. Upon the aforementioned facts, the present review will shed some light on the Quorum Sensing (QS) in S. aureus, particularly, the Agr and Sar systems and how these systems control the pathogenicity of this spe

The aim of this study was to making an analytical study in some kinematics variables in (200) meter breaststroke swimming to first ranking in championship 2003 – Spanish. The swimming in our country still suffering from several obstruction with retarded it’s development for the better since the investigators observe the insufficiency of swimming in our country to any analytical study for the international champions, this led to no specific and scientific discovering to these advanced levels as the estimation of the value of performance from the Iraqi coaches dependent on personality observation dependent on their opinion without referring to the specific and scientific diction. various fields of knowledge. Its sultans had participated in
building schools, purchasing books, summoning of scientists,
presenting gifts, and encouraging scientific journeys in and out
of Yemen. Therefore, studies had thrived and authorship

The aim of the research is the detection of heavy metals using (Inductively coupled Plasma ICP) for samples in Tigris river at intakes of water treatment plants Baghdad (Sharq dejla, Al-Wathba, Al-Wahda, and Al-Dora) and samples at Tigris banks near (Al-Adhamya, Al-Shuhda bridge and al-Jadrya).
All the recorded results were fitted with Iraqi standers No. 25 in 1967 for all samples with heavy metals (arsenic Ar, Cadmium Cd, Chromium Cr, Zinc Zn, Lead Pb, Copper Cu, Nickel Ni, Manganese Mn, Ferrous Fe) where all concentration were lower than standard values except Cadmium (0.01- 0.014) in plants intakes and (0.027- 0.048) in river samples while the standard value is (0.005).

Abstract
<title>Objective

To describe changes in attitudes and expectations of labor over the previous six decades, comparing the Iraqi generation who labored at home without medical assistance with their descendants.

Study Design

We used semi‐structured telephone interviews with 22 women across three generations of one extended family living and giving birth in Iraq between the 1950s and the 2010s. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically using open, axial, and selective coding.

Results

Each generation experienced a paradigm shift in childbirth, from exclus

Vitamin E Level In Friedreich’s Ataxic Phenotype Patients In Four Major Hospitals In Baghdad
...Show More Authors

Background: Friedreich ataxia (FRDA) is the most common form of inherited ataxia, comprising one-half of all hereditary ataxias with a carrier rate between 1 in 60 to 1 in 90 and with a disease prevalence of 1 per 29,000. It can occur in two forms the classic form or in association with a vitamin E dependent ataxia. The precise role of Vitamin E in the nervous system is unknown; An Oxidative attack is suspected to play a role in Ataxia with Vitamin E deficiency, as well as in Friedreich ataxia. Vitamin E is the major free-radical-trapping antioxidant.

Objective: Theobjectives of the study is to asses vitamin E level in patients with Friedreichs ataxia phenotype in Iraqi patients.

A Review in Sustainable Plastic Waste in Concrete
...Show More Authors

Recently times, industrial development has increased, including plastic industries, and since plastic has a very long analytical life, it will cause environmental pollution. Therefore studies have resorted to reusing recycled plastic waste (sustainable plastic) to produce environmentally friendly concrete (green concrete). In this research, some studies were reviewed and then summarized into several things, including the percentage of plastic replacement from the aggregate and the effect of this percentage on the fresh properties of concrete, such as the workability and the effect of plastic waste on the hardening properties of concrete such as dry density, compressive, tensile and flexural strength.
