Adult Dengue Fever in Bangladesh: A One-Sample Rank-Based Test of Hematologic Location Against Healthy References
...Show More Authors

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection that produces characteristic abnormalities in routine blood tests, yet these hematologic changes are typically analysed separately for each parameter rather than as a combined multivariate profile. This study investigated whether the joint hematologic profile of adult dengue patients in Bangladesh is systematically displaced from healthy adult reference values. We analysed a cohort of laboratory-confirmed adult dengue cases from a Bangladeshi hospital and focused on four core hematologic indices: haemoglobin, white blood cell count, platelet count, and platelet distribution width (PDW). External adult reference means were used to define a healthy location vector, and robust multivariate inference was carried out using the rank-based location test of Utts and Hettmansperger (1980). Sex-specific (male, female) and pooled (all adults) analyses were performed after careful data cleaning, outlier diagnostics, and checks of non-normality. Across all sex-specific and pooled analyses, the same multivariate profile emerged: haemoglobin, white-cell, and platelet levels were consistently lower than their healthy reference means, whereas PDW was higher, indicating greater platelet-size variability. The Utts–Hettmansperger test strongly rejected the null hypothesis of equality with the healthy reference vector in every analysis, documenting a large and coherent displacement of the dengue group in the four-dimensional hematologic space. Taken together, these results provide robust, distribution-free statistical evidence that adult dengue fever in Bangladesh is associated with a stable, biologically interpretable shift in core blood indices, integrating leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and altered platelet morphology into a single multivariate summary. This study demonstrates that robust rank-based multivariate location tests can enhance traditional laboratory interpretation by quantifying the joint displacement of key blood indices in infectious-disease cohorts such as adult dengue.

Preparation, Characterization, Theoretical and Biological Study of new Complexes with mannich base , 2chloro –N-5-(Piperidin -1-ylmethylthio)-1, 3, 4- Thiadiazol-2-yl)acetamide
...Show More Authors

A new Mannich base ligand was prepared by reacting the 2-chloro.-N-(5-mercapto-1, 3, 4-thiadazol -2-yl) acetamide and Piperidine in the presence (formaldehyde) (L) ligand. A series of ligand complexes were prepared from (L) with the metal ion Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Pd (II), Pt (IV), and Au (III). Various spectroscopic techniques such as C.H.N.S, FTIR, UV-VIS, , 1HNMR, 13CNMR, Magnetic moment, and molar conductivity successfully characterize the obtained compounds. The M: L ratio was determined using the molar ratio method in solution. All prepared compounds' antibacterial and antifungal activity was studied against two types of bacteria and one type of fungi at a rate of 0.02M. The standard ΔH° f and ΔEb of the ligands an

5-((2,4-dibromo-6-((cyclohexyl(methyl)amino)methyl)phenyl)diazenyl)quinolin-8-ol azo ligand (L) has been synthesized through the reaction of diazonium salt for 2,4-dibromo-6-((cyclohexyl(methyl)amino)methyl)aniline with 8-hydroxyquinoline. The azo ligand (L) was characterized utilizing spectroscopic techniques, including FTIR, UV-Vis, 1H and 13C NMR, as well as mass spectrometry and micro-elemental analysis (C.H.N). Metal complexes containing Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) were synthesized and analyzed through mass spectrometry, flame atomic absorption, elemental analysis (C.H.N), infrared and UV-Vis spectroscopy, along with measurements of conductivity and magnetic properties. The complexes of the 2-hydroxy-4-Nitro phenyl piperonalidene with metal ions Cr(III), Ni(II), Pt(IV) and Zn(II) were prepared in ethanolic solution. These complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods, conductivity, metal analyses and magnetic moment measurements. The nature of the complexes formed in ethanolic solution was study following the molar ratio method. From the spectral studies, monomer structures proposed for the nickel (II) and Zinc (II) complexes while dimeric structures for the chromium (III) and platinum (IV) were proposed. Octahedral geometry was suggested for all prepared complexes except zinc (II) has tetrahedral geometry, Structural geometries of these compounds were also suggested in gas phase by using

Obstacles to the adoption of business commercial books to determine taxable income and ways to address them: An applied research at The General Commission for Taxes
...Show More Authors

The research aims to shed light on the obstacles that hinder the use of taxpayers' commercial books covered by provisions of the amended commercial book-keeping system No. 2 of 1985 and ways to address these obstacles. On this basis, the main null hypothesis was formulated that there is no statistically significant relationship between the obstacles to the adoption of the commercial books and taxable income.

The research data were collected on the base of three applied case studies of registered taxpayers in the General Commission of Taxes, GCT, together with the use of a questionnaire distributed to a sample of taxpayers ( companies ). The collected data were analyzed, the result  were presented  and the hypothesis was
