Background: The main objective was to compare the outcome of single layer interrupted extra-mucosal sutures with that of double layer suturing in the closure of colostomies.

Subjects and Methods: Sixty-seven patients with closure colostomy were assigned in a prospective randomized fashion into either single layer extra-mucosal anastomosis (Group A) or double layer anastomosis (Group B). Primary outcome measures included mean time taken for anastomosis, immediate postoperative complications, and mean duration of hospital stay. The mixed-spin ferrimagnetic Ising system consists of two-dimensional sublattices A and B with spin values and respectively .By used the mean-field approximation MFA of Ising model to find magnetism( ).In order to determined the best stabile magnetism , Gibbs free energy employ a variational method based on the Bogoliubov inequality .The ground-state (Phase diagram) structure of our system can easily be determined at , we find six phases with different spins values depend on the effect of a single-ion anisotropies .these lead to determined the second , first orders transition ,and the tricritical points as well as the compensation phenomenon .

The antimicrobial potency of the crude ethanolic extracts from different Iraqi plants were evaluated . Further more, total sesquiterpene lactones and phenolic compounds were isolated and their antimicrobial activity attempted. The results indicated that crude extracts have no activity except that of Callistemon lanceolatus. Also, the sesquiterpene lactones and phenolic compounds isolated from Callistemon lanceolatus were the most significant antimicrobial active constituents of the studied plants.
