A field experiment was conducted at botanical garden of Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Science (Ibn Al-Haitham), University of Baghdad, during the growth winter season of 2016-2017 to study the effect of different concentrations (0, 10, 20) mg.L^-1 of abscisic acid and (0, 50, 100, 150) mg.L^-1 of vitamin C and their interaction on some plant hormones of pea plant (Pisum sativum L.). In this paper, some chalcone derivatives (C1, C2) were synthesized based on the reaction of equal amount of substituted acetophenone and substituted banzaldehyde in basic medium. Oxazine and thiazine derivatives were prepared from the reaction of chalcones (C1-C2) with urea and thiourea respectively in a basic medium. Pyrazole derivatives were prepared based on the reaction of chalcones with hydrazine mono hydrate or phenyl hydrazine in the presence of glacial acetic acid as a catalyst. The new synthesized compounds were identified using various physical techniques like1 H-NMR and FT-IR spectra.

Many new heterocyclic compounds including 4-thiazolidinones containing indole with triazole units were described. The new Schiff bases [VII] a, b and [VIII] a, b synthesized by condensation acid hydrazides [II],[VI] with different (aromatic) aldehydes in absolute ethanol.  One hundred and fifteen isolates of Staphylococcus aureus were isolated from human infected wound and burn. The resistance of this organism for eight commonly used antibiotics was determined by disc diffusion methods.          The minimum inhibitory concentration MIC was determined for each drug by tube dilution method. Results showed significant variations in the MIC values. It was found that two isolates had high resistance for the eight antibiotics used. Effect of ascorbic acid on bacterial growth was studied singly and in combination with antibiotics. Reductions in MIC value were reported for different antibiotics when tested by growth curve method too.

The inhibitive action of Reactive Red (RR31) dye against corrosion of carbon steel in 1M acetic acid solution has been studied using gravimetric method at temperature ranged (288-318)K. The antibacterial activity for the different concentrations of RR31 dye against different bacterial species was studied. The experimental data indicates that this dye acts as a potential inhibitor for carbon-steel in acetic acid medium and the protection efficiency increase with increasing (RR31) dye.      2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole [I] were prepared by the cyclization of thiosemecarbazide with carbon disulphide and anhydrous  sodium carbonate in ethanol as a solvent.
