In this paper, the behavior of spliced steel girders under static loading is investigated. A group of seven steel I-girders were tested experimentally. Two concentrated loads were applied to each specimen at third points and the load was increased incrementally up to the yield of the specimen. Two types of splices were considered; the bearing type and the friction-grip type splices. For comparison, an analytical study was made for the tested girders in which the finite element analysis program (Abaqus) was used for analysis. To be feasible, the strength of cold-formed columns should be determined based on their post-buckling behavior. This work contain many steps starting from esterification of isophthalic acid to yield diester compound [I] which was converted to their acid hydrazide [II], then the later compound reacted with ethylacetoacetate to yield pyrazol-5-one compound [III]. Afterword added acetyl chloride to give the compound [IV], the reaction of this compound with theiosemicarbazide led to produce a new carbothioamide compound [V], which was reacted with ethyl chloro acetate to yield the thioxoimidazolidin compound [VI]. The condensation reactions of this compound with different substituted aldehyde give new alkene derivatives [VII] ad. The synthesized compounds were characterized by melting points, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and Mass spectroscopy.

Road accidents have been identified as one of the main causes of death and have a significant effect on public health challenges, economic growth and development. The Iraqi transport infrastructure has suffered from the effects of war, carelessness, and lack of investment. As a result, road traffic accidents have increased, and the current efforts to address road safety are minimal in comparison to the growing level of citizen suffering.           The present paper studies the generalized Φ-  recurrent of Kenmotsu type manifolds. This is done to determine the components of the covariant derivative of the Riemannian curvature tensor. Moreover, the conditions which make Kenmotsu type manifolds to be locally symmetric or generalized Φ- recurrent have been established. It is also concluded that the locally symmetric of Kenmotsu type manifolds are generalized recurrent under suitable condition and vice versa. Furthermore, the study establishes the relationship between the Einstein manifolds and locally symmetric of Kenmotsu type manifolds.

This research aims to reveal the quality standards available in press images published in the news sites, the Iraqi News Agency and Al-Mada Press for the period from: 1/9/2019, to: 30/9/2019. The research is a descriptive research, in which the researcher relied on the survey methodology to achieve its objectives. The research reached a number of results, most notably the weak role of photojournalists in the websites and the adoption of those the Internet as a source for obtaining press images published with news and reports through its pages, as well as the neglect of the standard Description/Comment below the press images, which plays an important function in explaining and interpreting them for users.
