Impact of Patients’ Education upon Reducing Psychological Distress during Diabetic Journey
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background and Objectives:

Diabetes distress (DD), an emotional burden that does not meet the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder, has gained attention in the diabetes literature. It was to evaluate the impact of diabetes education among psychological distress in type 2 diabetes patients.

Materials and Methods:

A cross-sectional study was conducted between November 1, 2024, and March 1, 2025, at the Endocrine and diabetes center in Baghdad City, Iraq, targeting persons aged 30 and older with diabetes who had engaged in-person clinics. Data were collected through structured phone interviews, supplemented by laboratory results from clinical records. The survey included demographic details, diabetes information, and the Psychological Distress Scale. Statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics, were performed to explore the relationships between DD, sociodemographics variables, and Pearson’s correlation.

Results:

The results showed a significant psychological distress among diabetic patients and also indicate a relationship between psychological distress and type II diabetes.

Conclusions:

Diabetic patients suffer from various psychological stressors, most notably anxiety about diabetes and future complications. There is a direct relationship between the duration of diabetes and the level of psychological distress, meaning that patients with diabetes for a long time are more likely to experience psychological distress. We recommended providing psychological support programs for diabetes patients and offering psychological counseling sessions to help them cope with anxiety and depression associated with the disease.

Patients and methods: Sixty patients with established AS receiving only etanercept were selected to be enrolled in this research with a mean age of 40.75 ± 8.67 years, 51 patients of them were males and only 9 patients were females. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise be to God who revived Balu. And the good word brought hard hearts after removing from them what had almost killed them of ignorance, injustice, hatred, hostility, estrangement, and irritation... So God replaced for them what was best with what was best in terms of knowledge and fairness, and what was corrupt, love, and altruism. So the example of a believer and a good word is like a tree with good roots and branches. Then I pray and greet the one who watered it from the pure and inexhaustible spring of Islam, our Master Muhammad, so that the valleys flowed in their capacity, and the crops grew, then they became thicker and became even, and their good fruits in behavi

Reducing the Pollutants from Municipal Wastewater by Chlorella Vulgaris Microalgae
...Show More Authors

In the present work, the pollutants of the municipal wastewater are reduced using Chlorella vulgaris microalgae. The pollutants that were treated are: Total organic carbon (TOC), Chemical oxygen demand (COD), Nitrate (NO3), and Phosphate (PO4). Firstly, the treatment was achieved at atmospheric conditions (Temperature = 25oC), pH 7 with time (1 – 48 h). To study the effect of other microorganisms on the reduction of pollutants, sterilized wastewater and unsterilized wastewater were used for two types of packing (cylindrical plastic and cubic polystyrene) as well as algae's broth (without packing), where the microalgae are grown on the packing then transported to the wastewater for treatment.
