Objective(s): To assess the effect of removable partial dentures on the abutment teeth in comparison with that of the
remaining dentition, and to investigate the effect of regular check up on periodontal health for patients using this
type of prosthesis.
Methodology: One hundred patients wearing removable partial dentures for at least three years included in the
study. Teeth used as direct or in direct retainers for the removable partial denture were considered as the study
group, while the remaining dentition in the same jaw was considered as the control group. The following periodontal
parameters were registered for each tooth, plaque and gingival indices, clinical attachment level and tooth mobility.

The global cancer burden is escalating, exerting considerable physical, emotional, and financial strain on people, families, communities, and healthcare systems. Objective: To explore the challenges faced in cancer management from the perspectives of physicians. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted between November 2024 and February 2025. Physicians were recruited from three different centers in Baghdad and Karbala using purposive and snowball sampling. The data collection was concluded upon reaching a saturation point. Complexes of Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II) and Zn(II) with mixed ligands of phenylalanine (L) and tributylphosphine (TBPh) were prepared in aqueous ethanol with (2:1:1) (M:L:TBPh). The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption,(C.H.N)Analysis, FT.IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. In addition biological activity of the phenylalanine and complexes against two selected type of bacteria were also examined. Some of the complexes exhibit good bacterial activities. From the obtained data the octahedral structure was suggested for all prepared complexes.
