Detection of anti-Helicobacter pylori in patients with Multiple Sclerosis
...Show More Authors

To determine the relationship between Helicobacter pylori infection and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) disorder, 20 patients with MS aged (25-60) years have been investigated from the period of 2016/12/1 to 2017/3/1 and compared to 15 apparently healthy individuals. All study groups were carried out to measure anti H.pylori IgA and H.pylori IgG antibodies by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. There was a significant elevation (p<0.05) in the concentration of anti H.pylori IgG and IgA antibodies (Abs) compared to control group, and there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in the concentration of IgA and IgG (Abs) of H.pylori according to gender, and there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in the concentration of IgA and IgG (Abs) of H.pylori according to gender and age. This result indicates that infection with H.pylori may play a role in the pathogenesis of MS.

Molecular Detection of Some β-lactamases Genes in Uropathogenic Escherichia coli
...Show More Authors

Around fifty Escherichia coli isolates were isolated from sixty midstream urine specimens collected from patients visiting hospitals in Baghdad city. Approximately, 52% of all isolates were identified as extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESBL) producer. Results demonstrated that 92% of these isolates were sensitive to carbapenems. Only four β-lactamase coding genes were detected; blaTEM, blaPER, blaVIM and blaCTX-M-2. As a conclusion, this work revealed that local E. coli isolates harboured ESBL coding genes which may contribute in its pathogenicity.

Detection of some heavy metals and bacterial contamination in canned vegetables
...Show More Authors

In this paper, thirty six samples of canned vegetables were collected randomly from
different markets in Baghdad city from October 2013 till March 2014. The study
includes identifying the concentration of some heavy metals (lead, nickel, zinc and iron)
by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometery. It was found that the higher
concentrations of heavy metals in canned vegetables, was lead 1.179 ppm in olive,
nickel 0.9078 ppm in olive, while zinc 10.143 ppm green peas and iron 90.601ppm in
white asparagus; but the lower concentrations represents with lead 0.0021 ppm in green
asparagus, nickel 0.0202 ppm in mushroom, while zinc 0.528 ppm in white asparagus
and iron 4.061 ppm in green peas. Canned food has been r

Detection of Genetic Polymorphism in Iraqi Barley using SSR-PCR Analysis
...Show More Authors

Nine Iraqi varieties of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) has been differentiated and diagnosed using simple sequence repeat markers to detect their genetic polymorphism. Six SSR primers were used for genetic screening of barley samples (IPA 265, IPA 99, Tuwaitha, Hitra, Rayhan, Shuaa, Bawadi, Samir and Al_khair). These primers generated total PCR product (11) bands divided to 8 polymorphic bands 3 monomorphic bands. the percentage of polymorphism 80% ranged between (50-100%). a mean value of polymorphic band per primer was 1.6 . these primers produced amplification fragment at Molecular weight between 75-900 bp. One unique band was generated at size 200bp, this band can be used as a DNA profiling of all studied genotypes. These results appear

Detection of COVID-19 in X-Rays by Convolutional Neural Networks
...Show More Authors

Coronavirus is considered the first virus to sweep the world in the twenty-first century, it appeared by the end of 2019. It started in the Chinese city of Wuhan and began to spread in different regions around the world too quickly and uncontrollable due to the lack of medical examinations and their inefficiency. So, the process of detecting the disease needs an accurate and quickly detection techniques and tools. The X-Ray images are good and quick in diagnosing the disease, but an automatic and accurate diagnosis is needed. Therefore, this paper presents an automated methodology based on deep learning in diagnosing COVID-19. In this paper, the proposed system is using a convolutional neural network, which is considered one o

Detection of line shape parameters in normal and abnormal biological tissues
...Show More Authors

Doppler broadening technique is suggested to monitor the development of tumours. It depends on the sensitivity of positronium (Ps) annihilation parameters to the sub- microstructural changes in biological tissues. This technique uses high resolution HpGe detector to measure the lineshape parameters (S and W) in normal mice's mammary tissues and adenocarcinoma mammary tissues as a function of tumour growth. The results demonstrate that the central parameter (S) decreases and the wing parameter (W) increases as the tumour grow. It is found that the S parameter changes considerably with the distribution of voids which are affected by the tumour development. Therefore the present technique can successfully be employed to monitor the developm

Real Time Motion Detection in Surveillance Camera Using MATLAB
...Show More Authors

Surveillance cameras are video cameras used for the purpose of observing an area. They are often connected to a recording device or IP network, and may be watched by a security guard or law enforcement officer. In case of location have less percentage of movement (like home courtyard during night); then we need to check whole recorded video to show where and when that motion occur which are wasting in time. So this paper aims at processing the real time video captured by a Webcam to detect motion in the Scene using MATLAB 2012a, with keeping in mind that camera still recorded which means real time detection. The results show accuracy and efficiency in detecting motion

HIDDEN FEATURES DETECTION USING HISTOGRAM MODIFICATION IN MRI IMAGES
...Show More Authors

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses magnetization and radio waves, rather than x-rays to make very detailed, cross- sectional pictures of the brain. In this work we are going to explain some procedures belongs contrast and brightness improvement which is very important in the improvement the image quality such as the manipulation with the image histogram. Its has been explained in this worked the histogram shrink i.e. reducing the size of the gray level gives a dim low contrast picture is produced, where, the histogram stretching of the gray level was distributed on a wide scale but there is no increase in the number of pixels in the bright region. The histogram equalization has also been discuss together with its effects of the improveme

Automatic Pectoral Muscles Detection and Removal in Mammogram Images
...Show More Authors
The main aim of the Computer-Aided Detection/Diagnosis system is to assist the radiologists in examining the digital mammograms. Digital mammogram is the most popular screening technique for early detection of breast cancer. One of the problems in breast mammogram analysis is the presence of pectoral muscles region with high intensity in the upper right or left side of most Media-Lateral Oblique views of mammogram images. Therefore, it is important to remove this pectoral muscle from the image for
