Background:Image guided transthoracic needle biopsy (TTNB) has great diagnostic value for the definitive characterization of lung lesions and is an established primary procedure to diagnose pulmonary nodules. It is traditionally performed as an outpatient procedure. It is safe, accurate, sensitive, and can obviate surgical procedure.
Objective: to assess the accuracy and safety of CT-guided TTNB in Baghdad Teaching Hospital
Patients & Methods: From December 2009 to September 2011, we conducted a prospective study of 43 consecutive outpatient and inpatient lung biopsies. An informed consent was obtained from the patients. No sedation is required. All biopsies were performed using CT guidance withou
Civil Forfeiture is a controversial legal process that allows law enforcement authorities to seize assets when there is a suspicion that assets are the proceeds of crime, regardless of the accused’s conviction for crime. This process viewed on the one hand as a strong weapon for targeting criminal assets and means to commit further criminal activity, and on the other hand as a violation of the rights of individuals. Justifications have been introduced to support both sides. This Article examines those justifications, and supports the civil forfeiture system to be applied in Iraq. The Article proposes the core elements that need to be considered in adopting civil forfeiture legislation in Iraq. &

Show MoreToday, development is the dominant idea at the international and national levels, while energy is at the heart of development as the engine and vital element of modern civilization, which can’t be achieved without the participation of an energy policy that takes into account this concern. At the same time, we can’t make any development in the margins of human rights, in other words, if we are to move to development, it would be wise to do so taking into account the rights of present and future generations, whereas they provide the greatest amount of development and less environmental damage. This may not be possible for all energy options, including nuclear, because of its intersection with the rights of future generations.

Particularly, elastic and inelastic electron scattering form factors and transition probabilities have been calculated for low-lying positive and negative states. The sd and sdpf shell model spaces have been used to calculate the one-body density matrix elements (OBDM) for positive and negative parity states respectively. Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) with different parameterizations has been tested with shell model calculation as a single particle potential for reproducing the experimental data along with a harmonic oscillator (HO) and Woods-Saxo
