The effects of progesterone on mice offspring testis development and anogenital distance postnatally
...Show More Authors

Background: Analysis of human reports and comparison with results of experimental animals indicate that the effects of progesterone on human not analogous to experimental animals fetus, many studies showed that exposure to progesterone during developing of genital tract of human fetus was not teratogenic. Other studies which performed on laboratory animals found association between progesterone administration during gestation and genital malformation. Objectives: to explore the effect of progesterone in 10.2 mg/kg intraperitoneal injection in mice on testis development and anogenital distance. Materials and Methods: ten pregnant mice divided into five mouse control group that injected10. 2mg/kg sesame oil and treated group that injected progesterone at dose 10.2 mg/kg/day allover gestation to the seventh day postnatally, mice offspring sacrificed, the anogenital distance, weight and diameter of testis were measured, histological slides were prepared and examined for histopathological change and measurement of seminiferous tubules diameter, germinal epithelium thickness and interstitial space were done. Results: the current study found anogenital distance decrement and histopathological changes in mice offspring testis as hemorrhage or congestion of blood vessels, irregular shapes of seminiferous tubules with atrophy, detachment of spermatogenic cells from basement membrane, death of spermatogenic cells and destruction of Sertoli and leydig cells, it is also showed wider interstitial tissue and thinner germinal epithelium.

THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE CULTURE OF PEACE AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
...Show More Authors

The issue of peace, renunciation of violence, and acceptance of the other is one of the vital issues that rose to the top of the list of priorities at the end of the last century and the beginning of the new millennium of the conscience of the Iraqi people by spreading the culture of peace. In this context, we seek during this research to identify the concept of the culture of peace and its impact on sustainable development, and to draw a set of results and suggestions to consolidate this culture in our Iraqi society as an obligation of sustainable development.

Histological study on the ovaries of female mice treated by carbamazepine
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this study was to examine the association of oral administration of Carbamazepine during pregnancy and the histological changes in the ovaries of mice. Timed-pregnant mice were divided into experimental and control groups. 60 mice in the experimental group received daily oral of 15 mg/kg of carbamazepine via intragastric tube on gestational days 0 to 18. 20 mice were used as control group. They received normal saline via the same route. Dams underwent laparotomy on pregnancy days 13, 15, and 18 and the ovaries were collected. Routine histological processing of the ovaries histology of paraffin sections stained with haemotoxylin and eosin, were conducted. The ovary under the effect of the drug, there was signs of degeneration

Laser Distance Sensors Evaluation for Geomatics Researches
...Show More Authors

In this study, an approach inspired by a standardized calibration method was used to test a laser distance meter (LDM). A laser distance sensor (LDS) was tested with respect to an LDM and then a statistical indicator explained that the former functions in a similar manner as the latter. Also, regression terms were used to estimate the additive error and scale the correction of the sensors. The specified distance was divided into several parts with percent of longest one and observed using two sensors, left and right. These sensors were evaluated by using the regression between the measured and the reference values. The results were computed using MINITAB 17 package software and excel office package. The accuracy of the results in this wo

Automatic Number Extraction from Fixed Imaging Distance
...Show More Authors

Developed countries are facing many challenges to convert large areas of existing services to electronic modes, reflecting the current nature of workflow and the equipment utilized for achieving such services. For instance, electricity bill collection still tend to be based on traditional approaches (paper-based and relying on human interaction) making them comparatively time-consuming and prone to human error.

This research aims to recognize numbers in mechanical electricity meters and convert them to digital figures utilizing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in Matlab. The research utilized the location of red region in color electricity meters image to determine the crop region that contain the meters numbers, then

Problems Facing University Students in Distance Learning
...Show More Authors

The current study aims to examine the level of problems faced by university students in distance learning, in addition to identify the differences in these problems in terms of the availability of internet services, gender, college, GPA, interactions, academic cohort, and family economic status. The study sample consisted of (3172) students (57.3% females). The researchers developed a questionnaire with (32) items to measure distance learning problems in four areas: Psychological (9 items), academic (10 items), technological (7 items), and study environment (6 items). The responses are scored on a (5) point Likert Scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). Means, standard deviations, and Multivariate Analysis of Vari

Influence of Distance and Argon Flow rate on Pseudomonas aeruginosa Bacteria Exposed to Non thermal Plasma at Atmospheric Pressure
...Show More Authors

In this research, a type of gram negative bacteria was exposed to non-thermal plasma at a distance of (2 and 3 cm) from the plasma flow nozzle, with the use of an alternating power supply (5KHz), where exposure was made at two different voltages (4.9 and 8 kV). A negative gram of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria was isolated and exposed to non-thermal plasma at different flow rates of argon gas whose value ranged from (1-5) liters/minute. The results showed that bacterial killing rate is directly proportional to distance while exposing the samples to non-thermal plasma, and the best factors by which a complete killing rate was obtained were at a distance of 2 cm with a voltage of 8 kV and a gas flow rate of 5 liters/min,

EFFECT OF HONEY ON SPERM CHARACTERISTICS AND PREGNANCY RATE IN MICE
...Show More Authors

The aim of the current study is to demonstrate the effect of honey on the sperms characteristics (sperm concentration, sperm motility, grade of activity and sperm normal morphology) as well as pregnancy rate in mice. Sperms were obtained from caudal epididymis of male mice and prepared by adding10% of honey to the IVF medium using direct sperms activation technique for 30 minute incubation period before artificial insemination.

The study revealed a significant (P > 0.05) increase in active sperm motility (grade A and grade B) 49% and pregnancy rate 53.3% in female mice artificially inseminated with sperms. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in sperm con
