Inthis study new derivatives of Schiff bases and nucleoside analogues have been synthesized from the starting material D-glucose after a series of reactions. Derivative 1 was prepared from D-glucose then react with P-bromoacetophenone gave derivative 2 was reacted with dimethyl sulfoxide and acetic anhydride for dehydration a molecule of water gave 3. The spiro ring was prepared at 3-position from the reaction of 3 derivative with 1-phenyl-2–thioureagave 4. The protection group at 1 position was removed by using acetic acid fllowed by periodate oxidation to obtain 6. Antimicrobial activity of new complexes are studied against Gram positive S. aureus and Gram negative E. coli, Proteus, Pseudomonas. Our recent work displays the successful preparation of Schiff_bases that carried out between hexane-2,5-dione and 2 moles of (Z)-3-hydrazineylideneindolin-2-one forming in Schiff-bases-(L), Which in turn allowed combining with each of the next metal ions: (M²⁺) = Ni, Mn, Zn, Cu and Co forming complexes_ in high stability. The formation of resulting Schiff_ bases (L) is detected spectrally using LC_Mss which gave approximately matching results with theoretical incomes, ¹HNMR proves the founding of doublet signal of (2H) for 2NH, FTIR indicates the occurrence of two interfered imine bands and UV-VIS mean is also indecates the formation of ligand. Coupling reaction of 4-aminoantipyrene with 8-hydroxyqunoline gave the new bidentate azo ligand 5-(4-antipyrene azo)-8-hydroxyqunoline. Treatment of this ligand with the following metals ions (MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M(L)2Cl2]. The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption, FT.IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. Chloride ion content were also evaluated by (Mohr Method). From above data, the proposed molecular structure for these complexes as octahedral geometry.

Three ligands were prepared, spectroscopic method and elemental analysis verified their structures. The L1 and L2 ligands are flavylium salts while the third one L3 is a Flavon. The reactions between transition metal salts and the ligands have synthesized two groups of new metal complexes, one group contains L1, L3 coordinated with the metal ion. The other group contains L2, L3 and the metal. These complexes have been identified by available spectroscopic tools (UV-Visible and IR), the C.H.N results confirmed the proposed structures. The experimental data disclosed that the complexes were coordinated by 6the coordinate with mono-and bidentate ligands forming octahedral structure, in which L3 acts as monodentate and L1, L2 as bidentate ligan

This work involves synthesis of amides containing isoxazoline unit starting with
chalcone; 4-[3-(3‾-nitrophenyl)-2-propene- 1-one]-aniline[I]. 4-Aminoacetophenone was
reacted with 3-nitrobenzaldehyde in basic medium giving chalcone [I] by claisen-schemidt
reaction. The chalcone [I] was reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride giving isoxazoline
[II] in NaOH basic medium. The amides with structural formula [III]a-h were prepared by the
reaction of amino compounds ; isoxazoline [II] with different acid chlorides in dry pyridine
and using DMF as a solvent at 4

C. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized
by melting points , FTIR and

HMNR (of compound [III]a) spectroscopy.
