During 2011, 1900 clinical specimens and 240 hospital environment specimens were collected from four hospitals in Baghdad. 128 isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii were obtained from clinical and environmental specimens in a percentage of 6.05% and 5.42%, respectively. The highest percentage of isolation, 83.62% was of sputum specimens and lower percentage of burns specimens 5.22%. This field experiment, was conducted to investigate a comparison of two methods for harvesting potatoes: mechanical and handy when using moldboard and chisel plow for primary tillage and three different distances for planting tubers in the rows 15, 25, and 35 cm in silt clay loam soil south of Baghdad. The factorial experiment followed a randomized complete block design with three replications using L.S.D. 5 % and 1 %. Object detection in real time is considered as a challenging problem. However, it is very important in a wide range of applications, especially in field of multimedia. The players and ball are the most important objects in soccer game videos and detecting them is a challenging task because of many difficulties, such as shadow and illumination, ball size, ball occluded by players or merged with lines, and similar appearance of players. To overcome these problems, we present a new system to detect the players and ball in real-time by using background subtraction and Sobel detection. The results were more accurate and approximately two times faster than those using only background subtraction.

Congenital toxoplasmosis (CT) and congenital rubella (CR) infections are well-known causes potentially leading to devastating consequences. This report aims to address the prevalence of each of these infections among suspected infants in a pediatric hospital in Baghdad.

The study sample includes 120 blood samples of suspected infants consulting Al-Alwyia pediatric teaching hospital over one year.
