Abstract—Over the two past decades, the rapid integration of capital markets underlined the necessity for developing a single set of high quality international accounting standards. The growing acceptance of international accounting standards has given power for International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) to work and develop this project. Iraq is a country where its accounting practices have been influenced by different philosophies from outside and inside Iraq during its modern history. After the fall of Saddam Hussain international institutions have begun to play an important role in reshaping Iraq’s economy including its accounting for oil. This paper investigates the challenges and opportunities for Iraq in transitioning from its national Unified Accounting System (UAS) to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). The investigation used a qualitative research approach including two research methods. For archival resources to the accounting system and the pressure to change, content analysis was used. To ascertain the views of persons of significant importance, In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with academics, managers, consultants, CFO, CAO, and accounting professionals in Iraq based on the New Institutional Theory (Isomorphism) was used to analyze the interview transcripts. The results revealed that the current situation in Iraq is an example of institutional isomorphism, specifically coercive isomorphism by the World Bank and IMF; mimetic isomorphism by the IOCs and normative isomorphism by the Big 4 accounting firms. Further, this study highlights the need for further research into the impact o
Occurrence the heavy metals in water is one of the most important concerns. may cause savior health problems. In this work we made an attempt to know the quantity of six heavy metals in groundwater in different locations of Baghdad city. Examinations were made on groundwater of the review region to assess the heavy metals. Groundwater samples were gathered and analyzed utilizing Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer for their Manganese, Iron, Zinc, Cadmium, Copper and Lead content and their levels compared with World Health Organization (WHO) specified maximum contaminant level. In order to accomplish this, water samples were obtained from 10 randomly selected wells in the region, in February and August, 2016. The study showed that the ground

This study involved calculation the corrosion rates of the internal surfaces of the pipelines either during operation of the vacuum unit or when the tower out of operation. Finally, find the solution by one of the following suggestions. In the first suggestion removal of the dissolved O2 from water is achieved by increasing the dosage of the oxygen scavenger (sodium sulphite). The second suggestion involves re

in north and mid Iraq during 1993. The parasitological inspection of such fishes revealed the
presence of 59 parasite species and two fungi. Among such parasites, five monogenetic
trematodes were recorded on the gills of some fishes for the first time in Iraq. These

This paper deals with a preliminary survey helminth parasites of the black partridge. Francolinus francolinus arabistanicus in Baghdad area, middle of Iraq. It was found that the bird was infected with the cestodes Cotugnia digonopora and Raillietina tetragona with infection rates of 61.9% and 4.8% respectively, and the nematodes Heterakis gallinarum and Paroneoccrca rouss-lotti with infection rates of 4.8% and 19% respectively. Some important measurements, distribution and occurrence according host-sex of each parasite were provided along with some remarks on parasites biology.
Keys to four genera and twelve species of the subfamily Phlaeothripinae (Phlaeothripidae) were constructed, these are: Haplothrips; Karnyothrips; Phlaeothrips; and Dolicholepta ,and the species are: Haplothrips cerealis Priesner; Haplothrips tritici kurdjumov, Haplothrips hukkineni Priesner; Haplothrips subtilissimus (Haliday) ؛ Haplothrips reuteri Karny; Haplothrips jasonis Priesner; Haplothrips sallloumensis Priesner ; Haplothrips pharao Priesner ; Phlaeothrips sycomri Priesner ; Karnyothrips flavipus (Jones); Karnyothrips melaleucus (Bagnall) ; Dolicholepta micrurus (Bagnall). The existence of the species is yet uncertain in Iraq. The habitat and morphological characteristics of this species were reviewed.
The middle Cenomanian – early Turonian Mishrif Formation, a major carbonate reservoir unit in southern Iraq, was studied using cuttings and core samples and wireline logs (gamma‐ray, density and sonic) from 66 wells at 15 oilfields. Depositional facies ranging from deep marine to tidal flat were recorded. Microfacies interpretations together with wireline log interpretations show that the formation is composed of transgressive and regressive hemicycles. The regressive hemicycles are interpreted to indicate the progradation of rudist lithosomes (highstand systems tract deposits) towards distal basinal locations such as the Kumait, Luhais and Abu Amood oilfield areas. Transgressive hemicycles (transgressive systems tract deposits)
