First-Principles Analysis of Cr-Doped SrTiO3 Perovskite as Optoelectronic Materials
...Show More Authors

The influence of Cr3+ doping on the ground state properties of SrTiO3 perovskite was evaluated using GGA-PBE approximation. Computational modeling results infered an agreement with the previously published literature. The modification of electronic structure and optical properties due to Cr3+ introducing into SrTiO3 were investigated. Structural parameters assumed that Cr3+ doping alters the electronic structures of SrTiO3 by shifting the conduction band through lower energies for the Sr and Ti sites. Besides, results showed that the band gap was reduced by approximately 50% when presenting one Cr3+ atom into the SrTiO3 system and particularly positioned at Sr sites. Interestingly, substituting Ti site by Cr3+ led to eliminating the band gap indicated a new electrical case of transferring semiconducting material into a conducting material which intern enhance conductivity. Furthermore, it was found that Cr3+ doping either at Sr or Ti positions could effectively develop the SrTiO3 dielectric constant properties. In addition, the absorption spectra was extended to cover the visible light region of the electromagnetic radiation, indicating the capability of this compound in harvesting sunlight for solar cell applications. Consequently, it can be said that Cr3+ is an effective dopant which opening up new prospects for various industrial and technological applications.

Evaluating the Moisture Content Variation on Critical Strain of Geo-materials: A Case Study
...Show More Authors

The tunnel’s stability during construction is a very important matter. Some methods have been proposed for stability evaluation, but the hazard warning levels (HWLs) are more applicable among these methods. Despite monitoring and applying HWLs, several collapses in Shibli twin tunnels in Iran have cast doubts on the accuracy of this criterion in the presence of water. In this study, the critical strains under different water contents were measured through uniaxial compressive strength tests on 11 different shale and marl samples. A comparison of laboratory tests and numerical results shows that the influence of the moisture content on the critical strain is negligible. In addition, the results show that there is no dir

Structural and Optical Properties for Zn Doped CdO Thin Films Prepared by Pulse Laser deposition
...Show More Authors

In this work, the effect of Zn dopant on structural and optical properties of cadmium oxides, CdO, thin film were studied prepared by pulse laser deposition on glass substrate then annealed at 250 ᵒC in air. All films were examined by X-ray diffraction and UV- visible spectrometer. The XRD analysis shows  appearance of  new phase identical with hexagonal ZnO additional with cubic phase at high Zn content, which effected on the optical properties. The optical energy gap increase from 2.45 eV to 2.70 eV with increasing  Zn content  from 0 to 40 %.

A canonical generic algorithm for likelihood estimator of first order moving average model parameter
...Show More Authors

The increasing availability of computing power in the past two decades has been use to develop new techniques for optimizing solution of estimation problem. Today's computational capacity and the widespread availability of computers have enabled development of new generation of intelligent computing techniques, such as our interest algorithm, this paper presents one of new class of stochastic search algorithm (known as Canonical Genetic' Algorithm ‘CGA’) for optimizing the maximum likelihood function strategy is composed of three main steps: recombination, mutation, and selection. The experimental design is based on simulating the CGA with different values of are compared with those of moment method. Based on MSE value obtained from bot

Numerical Treatment of First Order Volterra Integro-Differential Equation Using Non-Polynomial Spline Functions
...Show More Authors

The approach given in this paper leads to numerical methods to find the approximate solution of volterra integro –diff. equ.1st kind. First, we reduce it from integro VIDEs to integral VIEs of the 2nd kind by using the reducing theory, then we use two types of Non-polynomial spline function (linear, and quadratic). Finally, programs for each method are written in MATLAB language and a comparison between these two types of Non-polynomial spline function is made depending on the least square errors and running time. Some test examples and the exact solution are also given.

...Show More Authors

A total of 680 fish specimens belonging to 31 species from the Yemeni coastal waters of the Red Sea were inspected for the isopod infestations. Four isopod species belonging to three families of the suborder Cymothoida were detected. These are: Aega psora (Linnaeus, 1758) from Lethrinus lentjan, Natatolana insignis Hobbins and Jones, 1993 from Abalistes stellatus, Excorallana tricornis (Hansen, 1890) from Epinephelus fuscoguttatus, E. guttatus and E. tauvina and Alcirona krebsi Hansen, 1890 from Epinephelus microdon. All these isopod species are reported here for the first time from the Yemeni coastal waters of the Red Se

The Effect of Doped TiO2 Layer on the Performance and Stability of PCDTBT: PCBM-based Organic Solar Cells
...Show More Authors

Charge extraction layers play a crucial role in developing the performance of the inverted organic solar cells. Using a transparent metal oxide with appropriate work function to the photoactive layer can significantly decrease interface recombination and enhance charge transport mechanism. Therefore, electron selective films that consist of aluminium-doped titanium dioxide (TiO2:Al) with different concentrations of Al (0.4, 0.8, and 1.2)wt %  were prepared using sol-gel technique. The inverted organic solar cells PCPDTBT: PCBM with Al doped TiO2 as electron extraction layer were fabricated. It is well known that Al doping concentration potentially affects the physical characteristics of the TiO2 by control
