DETERMINATION OF ANILINE IN WASTEWATER BY CLOUDPOINT EXTRACTION FOLLOWED BY HPLC USING 8-HYDROXYQUINOLINE AS A DERIVATIZATION AGENT
...Show More Authors

A procedure, depending on the derivatization and determination of aniline was depicted andvalidated in this study. 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) was used as the derivatizing agent for thedetermination of aniline. An optimization study was performed for the derivatization reaction, i.e.,the diazonium coupling reaction, the optimum parameters were as follows: 22 mM of hydrochloricacid, 54mM of sodium hydroxide, and 1.8mM of sodium nitrate. The optimization study of themethod of cloud point extraction (CPE) revealed that the extraction solvent was 0.5 ml of Triton X-100, the optimum temperature was 90 °C, and the incubation time was 25 min. The linearity, correlation coefficients, molar absorptivities, and limits of detection were improved using the CPEmethod. The extraction product was injected into HPLC. The chromatographic conditions were asfollows: the mobile phase was acetonitrile:water 60:40, the stationary phase was C18 RP column, the detection was at visible wavelength of 420 nm, flow rate 1ml/min. The proposed method wasapplied for the trace detection in environmental application of wastewater. The concentration ofaniline in wastewater was in range of 0.2-7 μg/l. NEW APPROACH FOR DETERMINATION OF MEBEVERINE BY QUENCHED FLUORESCENCE OF ANALYTICALLY INTERESTED SPECIES USING CONTINUOUS FLOW INJECTION LASER DIODE FLUORIMETER ANALYSER
...Show More Authors

The proposed method is sensitive, simple , fast for the determination of mebeverine hydrochloride in pure form or in pharmaceutical dosage . Using Homemade instrument fluorimeter continuous flow injection analyser with solid state laser (405 nm) as a source. Where it is based upon the fluorescence of fluorescein sodium salt and quenching effect of fluorescence by mebeverine in aqueous medium. The calibration graph was linear in the concentration range 0.05 to10 mMol.L-1 (r= 0.9629) with relative standard deviation (RSD%) for 1 mMol.L-1mebeverine solution was lower than 3% (n=6). Three pharmaceutical drugs were used as an application for the determination of mebeverine. A comparison was made between the newly developed method of analysis wit

Prepared 13X Zeolite as a Promising Adsorbent for the Removal of Brilliant Blue Dye from Wastewater
...Show More Authors

The research discussed the possibility of adsorption of Brilliant Blue Dye (BBD) from wastewater using 13X zeolite adsorbent, which is considered a byproduct of the production process of potassium carbonate from Iraqi potash raw materials. The 13X zeolite adsorbent was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction that showed a clear match with the standard 13X zeolite. The crystallinity rate was 82.15% and the crystal zeolite size was 5.29 nm. The surface area and pore volume of the obtained 13X zeolite were estimated. The prepared 13X zeolite showed the ability to remove BBD contaminant from wastewater at concentrations 5 to 50 ppm and the removal reached 96.60% at the lower pollutant concentration. Adsorption measurements versus tim

Using of Constructed Wetlands in The Treatment of Wastewater: A Review for Operation and Performance: Review for Using of Constructed Wetlands in The Treatment of Wastewater: Operation and Performance
...Show More Authors

Wastewater recycling for non-potable uses has gained significant attention to mitigate the high pressure on freshwater resources. This requires using a sustainable technique to treat natural municipal wastewater as an alternative to conventional methods, especially in arid and semi-arid rural areas. One of the promising techniques applied to satisfy the objective of wastewater reuse is the constructed wetlands (CWs) which have been used extensively in most countries worldwide through the last decades. The present study introduces a significant review of the definition, classification, and components of CWs, identifying the mechanisms controlling the removal process within such units. Vertical, horizontal, and hybrid CWs

Simultaneous Determination of Cephalexin and Cefixime by First and Second Derivative Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry
...Show More Authors

A new spectrophotometric method for individual and simultaneous determination of cefixime and cephalexin depending on the first and second derivative mode techniques. The first and second derivative spectra of these compounds permitted individual and simultaneous determination of cefixime and cephalexin in concentration interval of (4– 24μg.ml-1 ) by measuring the amplitude of peak-to-base line, pea to peak at certain wavelengths and the area under peak at selected spectrum intervals. The methods showed reasonable precision and accuracy and have been applied to determine cefixime and cephalexin in two different pharmaceutical preparations.

New Method for the Determination of DL-Histidine by FIA and Chemiluminometric Detection
...Show More Authors

This paper present a simple and sensitive method for the determination of DL-Histidine using FIA-Chemiluminometric measurement resulted from oxidation of luminol molecule by hydrogen peroxide in alkaline medium in the presence of DL-Histidine. Using 70?l. sample linear plot with a coefficient of determination 95.79% for (5-60) mmol.L-1 while for a quadratic relation C.O.D = 96.44% for (5-80) mmol.L-1 and found that guadratic plot in more representative. Limit of detection was 31.93 ?g DL-Histidine (S/N = 3), repeatability of measurement was less that 5% (n=6). Positive and negative ion interferances was removed by using minicolume containing ion exchange resin located after injection valve position.

DETERMINATION OF SERUM TRACE ELEMENTSMAGNESIUM, COPPER, ZINC, AND SELENIUM IN ASTHMATIC PATIENTS BY ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROPHOTOMETRY
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study is to evaluate the levels of trace elements Magnesium (Mg), Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu), and Selenium (Se) in blood sera of asthmatic patients by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The concentrations of Mg, Cu, and Zn have been determined by Flame Atomic Absorption spectrophotometry (FAAS), and Se with flameless Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (GFAAS). The study involves (55) asthmatic patients as study group and (28) subjects as control from both genders. Serum levels of Mg, Cu, and Se were significantly higher (p<0.001 for all) in patients when compared with healthy subjects, while Zn level was relatively significant (p<0.05). Our observations confirm the efficacy and applicability of (AAS) in

A Proposed Agent System for Network Monitoring
...Show More Authors

The traditional centralized network management approach presents severe efficiency and scalability limitations in large scale networks. The process of data collection and analysis typically involves huge transfers of management data to the manager which cause considerable network throughput and bottlenecks at the manager side. All these problems processed using the Agent technology as a solution to distribute the management functionality over the network elements. The proposed system consists of the server agent that is working together with clients agents to monitor the logging (off, on) of the clients computers and which user is working on it. file system watcher mechanism is used to indicate any change in files. The results were presente
