More than 450 distinct types of human papilloma virus recognized via recent molecular techniques. The low and high oncogenic risk-HPV genotypes have an association with a variety of benign and malignant tumors in the oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal localizations. This study aimed to determine the rate of DNA detection of HPV genotype 6/11 in non-oncologic nasopharyngeal and palatine tonsillar tissues from pediatric patients subjected to adeno-tonsillectomies. A total number of 64 tissue specimens enrolled; 44 non-oncologic nasopharyngeal and palatine hypertrophied tissue specimens from 22 pediatric patients sustained combined adeno-tonsillectomies and compared to 20 nasal trimmed tissues with unremarkable pathological changes (included as apparently healthy control tissues). Recent version of chromogenic in situ hybridization method used for HPV 6/11 DNA detection performed via DNA probes specified for HPV 6/11 low oncogenic - risk genotypes. Among a total 44 tissue specimens obtained from 22 pediatric patients who sustained surgical operations for combined non-oncologic nasopharyngeal and palatine tonsillar hypertrophies, 10 combined nasopharyngeal as well as palatine tonsillar hypertrophied tissues out of 22 combination of such tissues found to contain positive CISH reactions results for HPV 6 / 11 DNA, constituting 45.5% of the total screened tonsillar tissues. No positive– CISH reactions detected in the control tissues. Statistically, a significant difference showed when compared to the control apparently healthy nasal tissues. The significantly detected rates of these low- oncogenic HPV genotypes in both nasopharyngeal and palatine tonsillar hypertrophied tissues are pointing for a one important reservoir tissue site for such infection. In addition, indicating a herald mark for exploring the transmission and pathogenesis dilemma of such an important sexually transmitted infection among, at least, this group of pediatric Iraqi general population.
A total of 96 stool samples were collected from children with bloody diarrhea from two hospitals in Baghdad. All samples were surveyed and examined for the presence of the Escherichia coli O157:H7 and differentiate it from other Non -Sorbitol Fermenting Escherichia coli (NSF E. coli). The Bacterial isolates were identifed by using morphological diagnostic methods, Samples were cultured on liquid enrichment medium, incubated at 37C? for 24 hrs, and then cultured on Cefixime Tellurite -Sorbitol MacConkey Agar (CT- SMAC). 32 non-sorbitol fermenting bacterial isolates were obtained of which 11 were identified as Escherichia coli by using traditional biochemical tests and API20E diagnostic system without differentiation between

Hepatitis B is an inflammation of the liver that caused by Hepatitis B virus (HBV) which is DNA virus that infects the human and some kinds of animals such as chimpanzees and birds. This disease considered as the major disease of mankind and a serious global public health problem. HBsAg, HBeAg, HBcAb, HBeAb and HBsAb are markers used to detect the presence and the stage of infection. The current study included (181) individuals from both sexes, (137) males and (44) females. By ratio 3.11: 1.The mean age of patients 2.4033 ± 0.83519 (range 18-73) years as follows < 20 (11.6%), 21–40 (47.5%), 41–60 (29.8%) and > 60 (11.0%) . In this study, we investigated the potential role of the PCR assay in detection of Brucella species, from patients suspect to have brucellosis, using blood samples in both human and animal. To establish a PCR technique for diagnosis of active brucellosis in our samples, DNA extraction was carried out using a commercial kit, and a laboratory extraction procedure. PCR amplification was done using 1 set of primers: B4/B5 for Brucella species. Extraction of Brucella DNA using the commercial kit was successful. The laboratory extraction was successful and more economic. A total of 178 peripheral blood

Since the widespread use of the concept of human security in 1994, and as stated in the report of human development (UNDP) issued by the United Nations Development Programmer,And framed it with multiple dimensions of political, economical, social and cultural. This concept has became beyond the state and its security ,and covered all what, can threaten human life and humanitarian groups, according to the humanitarian needs in the following aspects: The economic, the food, health, environmental , individual, community and the political aspect, which totally means ,the disability of the security traditional perspective to deal with these issues. The achievement of human security, that handles the maintenance of human dignity for meeting their b

The synthesis of the target compounds were accomplished following multistep reaction procedures, the chemical reaction followed up and the purity of the products were checked by TLC. The structure of the final compounds and their intermediates were confirmed by their melting points, infrared spectroscopy and elemental microanalysis, the hydrolysis of compound III was studied using HPLC technique. According to the results mentioned above, compounds (I−V) can be good candidates as possible mutual prod

IL-6 is a soluble mediator with a pleiotropic effect on inflammation, immune response, and hematopoiesis. Aim: To estimate serum IL-6 level and EOS gene expression in Iraqi patients with psoriasis. Method: Twenty-two patients with psoriasis (8 females, 14 males) with age ranged 18-72 years, were recruited from Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Dermatology Clinic, Baghdad, and 24 healthy donors. The serum levels of IL-6 by ELISA and the gene expression of IKZF4 (EOS gene) by RT-qPCR technique. Results: The results showed a non-significant diffe
