The 2D Seismic Evaluation of Petrophysical Characters of Yamama Reservoir in Nasiriyah Oil Field, Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

Since seismic reflection data produce comprehensive subsurface images that reveal geological structures likely to contain minerals, oil, and gas, they are essential for resource exploitation. When paired with well logs, these data enable seismic and petrophysical assessments that lower drilling risks and boost efficiency. Wireline logs from five wells and seismic coverage of the Nasiriyah oil field (Dhi-Qar Governorate), processed with Schlumberger software, were used to characterize the Yamama reservoir. Synthetic seismograms connected reservoir tops to seismic data; however, resistivity and gamma logs helped with correlation and sequence delineation. Wells' correlation described the migration routes of hydrocarbons and reservoir carbonates. Potential sweet spots were found using models that showed heterogeneity and anisotropy in the reservoir's lateral and vertical variations. Units YB3 and YC were defined as the primary production layers, based on borehole data analyzed in Techlog, Petrel, Kingdom, and Didger. Results confirm seismic methods enhance exploration success and guide future hydrocarbon recovery.

An evaluation of waste and well water quality for agriculture production around Erbil city, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Erbil city is located in the northern Iraq with a population of over one million people. Due to water crises farmers usually use wastewater and well water for the agricultural production. In this study six stations were designed to sample waste water and three from well water to define waste water and ground water characteristics. In this study, Residual Na+ Carbonate, Mg++ hazard, salinity hazard, Kelley index, %sodium, total hardness, permeability index, potential salinity, sodium adsorption ratio, and Irrigation Water Quality Index (IWQI) were determined. The order of average cation concentrations in water was Mg2+> Ca2+ > Na+ > K+. While the proportion of main

Background: The altered status of some essential trace elements observed in diabetes could have deleterious influences on the health of the diabetics. Objectives: To estimate and study the potential role of serum Selenium in type 1, type 2 diabetics and healthy subjects; and its relation with lipid profile and glycemic index. Methods: A case control designed study was carried out at the National Diabetes Center (NDC) / Al-Mustansiria University; on a total of 94 participants formed of 32 type 1 diabetics, 32 type 2 diabetics and 30 healthy control participants. Data collected about age, sex and BMI; also, blood samples examined for FPG, HbA1C, serum total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, serum triglyceride and sera were

Performance Evaluation of TB-LAMP in the Diagnosis of Pulmonary Tuberculosis
...Show More Authors

Background: Tuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), is one of the most common infectious diseases, especially in countries with limited healthcare resources. Early and accurate diagnosis is essential to curb its spread, and loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a rapid, cost-effective, and reliable molecular diagnostic method. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of TB-LAMP as a rapid and reliable diagnostic tool for pulmonary TB and compare it with direct smears and Gene Xpert, using culture as a reference. Materials: Between February and July 2025, a total of 397

An experiment was conducted using pots (capacity of 4 kg soil/pot) in the glasshouse of Biology Dept. College of Education (Ibn Al-Haitham) University of Baghdad during 2008-2009 growing season, in order to determine the effect of different levels of urea fertilizer (Zero, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 gm/4 kg soil in pot) these equal to (Zero, 100,200,400 kg/ha) and different levels of superphosphate fertilizer (Zero, 0.1, 0.2 gm/4kg soil in pot), these equal to (Zero, 100,200 kg/ha) on some morphological and physiological characteristics of fenugreek plant. This experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications and the experiment included (36) pots. Results indicated clear increase in all studied characteristics wi

The Role of Organizational Flexibility in Achieving Organizational Prosperity: Field Research in a Sample of Iraqi Cellular Communications Companies
...Show More Authors

This research amid to measure the impact of organizational flexibility (structural flexibility, operational flexibility, and strategic flexibility) in achieving organizational prosperity and its dimensions (strategic agility, intellectual capital, innovation and sustainable competitive advantage) in a number of Iraqi cellular communications companies. The research adopted descriptive analytical approach. A sample of (85) persons from the research community was selected, which included (Department managers, Directors administrative units, Communication engineers), to answer the questionnaire prepared for this purpose. ESTIMATION OF GENE ACTION AND GENETIC PARAMETERS FOR SOME CHARACTERS OF YIELD AND ITS COMPONENTS IN SUMMER SQUASH (Cucurbita pepo L.) BY USING MEAN GENERATION ANALYSIS
...Show More Authors

An experiment was carried out in the vegetables field of Horticulture Department / College of Agriculture / Baghdad University , for the three seasons : spring and Autumn of 2005 , and spring of 2007 , to study the type of gene action in some traits of yield and its components in summer squash crosses (4 x 3 = cross 1 , 3 x 7 = cross 2 , 3 x 4 = cross 3 , 3 x 5 = cross 4 , 5 x 1 = cross 5 , 5 x 2 = cross 6). The study followed generation mean analysis method which included to each cross (P1 , P2 , F1 , F2 , Bc1P1 , Bc1P2) , and those populations obtained by hybridization during the first and second seasons. Experimental comparison was performed in the second (Two crosses only) and third seasons , (four crosses) by using RCBD with three repl

Classification of Elliptic Cubic Curves Over The Finite Field of Order Nineteen
...Show More Authors

Plane cubics curves may be classified up to isomorphism or projective equivalence. In this paper, the inequivalent elliptic cubic curves which are non-singular plane cubic curves have been classified projectively over the finite field of order nineteen, and determined if they are complete or incomplete as arcs of degree three. Also, the maximum size of a complete elliptic curve that can be constructed from each incomplete elliptic curve are given.
