The ligand 2-Hydroxy-N-pyridin-2-ylmethyl-acetamide(L) has been prepared from reaction of 2-(aminomethyl)pyridin with chloroacetic acid (1:1).It has been characterized by elemental analysis (C,H,N) ,'H, 13 C-NMR, IR and electronic spectra. The complexes of divalent (Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Cd and Hg) ions and trivalent(Cr) ion have been synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectra, molar conductivity, atomic absorption and molar ratio (Ni 2+) complex. The analytical studies for the complexes show; octahedral for (Cr 3+),square planar for (Cu 2+) and (Co,Ni Zn, Cd and Hg) tetrahedral geometries. The study of biological activity of the ligand (L) and its complexes (Co,Ni,Cu,Cd,Hg) in two deferent concentration (1and5) mg/ml showed various activity toward staphylococcus aureus and E.coli .
The purpose of this research is to synthesize a new mixed ligand Schiff base complexes of Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II),which are formulated from the Schiff base (L) that resulted from orthophathalaldehyde (2-PA) with 4-chloroaniline(4-NA). Diagnosis of prepared Ligand and its complexes is done by spectral methods as 1H–NMR, mass spectrometer, FTIR, UV-Vis, molar conductance, elemental microanalyses, atomic absoption and magnetic susceptibility. The analytical studyofall new complexes has shown octahedral geometries. Organic performance study of ligand Schiff base and its complexes reveals different activities agansit four types of bactria; two gram (+) and two gram (-) .
The mixed ligands complexes of 8-hydroxyquinoline and Schiff base 1, 5-dimethyl-4-(5- oxohexan-2-ylideneamino)-2-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3 (2H)-one (L) with Cr(III) , Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II) , Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions were prepared. The compounds have been characterized by NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis and mass spectra, elemental microanalysis (C.H.N.), magnetic moment, chloride contain, atomic absorption and molar conductance. All prepared complexes were octahedral geometry. Compound structures treated theoretically using the program hyper chem. 8 in gas phase at 298°K. The compounds were also screened for their bioactive property such as antifungal and antibacterial.
Four metal complexes of Schi base ligand were prepared. To characterize both the ligand and the metal complexes, various techniques were employed, including elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, molar conductivity measurements, magnetic moment determination, melting point, mass spectroscopy, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy. The results showed that the metal complexes formed have the formula [M(L)2Cl2]Cl(n).H2O, where LD Schi base ligand and MDCr(III), Rh(III), Pt(IV) and Au(III), n D 1, 2. Based on spectroscopic analysis, coordination with metal ions involves the ’N’ donor atom of N atoms of the imine and the N-H amid group, and four complexes are suggested to have a six-coordinated octahedral structure. ... Show Morefour coordinated complexes for divalent metal ions : Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Cd have been synthesized using bidentate Schiff base ligand type (NN)formed by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine , p- methylbenzadehyde and furfural in methanol. The ligand was reacted with divalent metal chloride forming complexes of the types :[M(L)Cl2] where : MII=Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, and Cd . These new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, U.V-Vis, 1HNMR (for ligand only and atomic absorption) , magnetic susceptibility, chloride content along with conductivity measurement. These studies revealed that the geometry for all complexes about central metal ion is tetrahedral.

The reaction of the (L-as-gly) with M+2; Co(II) Ni(II) Cu(II) and Zn(II) has been characterized by FT- IR , Uv-Visible , electrical conductivity, magnetic susceptibility methods and atomic absorption and molar ratio . The analysis showed that the ligand coordinate with metal ions through mono dentate carboxylic resulting in six-coordinated with Co(II) Ni(II) Cu(II) ions while with
... Show MoreThe absorption spectrum for three types of metal ions in different concentrations has been studying experimentally and theoretically. The examination model is by Gaius model in order to find the best fitting curve and the equation controlled with this behavior. The three metal ions are (Copper chloride Cu+2, Iron chloride Fe+3, and Cobalt chloride Co+2) with different concentrations (10-4, 10-5, 10-6, 10-7) gm/m3. The spectroscopic study included UV-visible and fluorescence spectrum for all different concentrations sample. The results refer to several peaks that appear from the absorption spectrum in the high concentration of all metal ions solution.

Show MoreNew derivatives of Schiff bases were synthesized from the aldehyde derivative (Ma2) which was produced by reacting the mefenamic acid (Ma) with thionyl chloride to obtain the acid halide derivative (Ma1). Compound (Ma1) was dissolved in DMF and mixed with p-hydroxybenzaldehyde which was previously dissolved with pyridine to obtain the aldehyde derivative (Ma2). In the final step, derivatives of Schiff bases were synthesized by reacting the aldehyde (Ma2) with a number of different aromatic primary amines in the presence of glacial acetic acid to obtain the new derivatives Ma [3-10]. The new prepared compounds were characterized by melting points and with spectral data FT-IR, 13C-NMR and 1H-MNR (some of them). The vital effectiven
