Study the effect of the different doses from the laser on Staphylococcus aureus Bacteria growth in vitro
...Show More Authors

Background: Laser is a novel physical therapy technique used to treat various conditions, including wound healing, inhibition of bacterial growth, and postoperative wounds. High-power pulsed alexandrite laser therapy is one of the most prevalent forms of laser therapy, which is a noninvasive method for treating various pathological conditions, thereby enhancing functional capacities and quality of life. It is a modern medical and physiotherapeutic technology. Generally, the Alexandrite laser emits infrared light with a wavelength of 755 nm, allowing it to propagate and penetrate tissues. Objective: This study focused on the application of a high-power pulsed alexandrite laser in vitro to evaluate the effect of a pulsed alexandrite laser on antibiotic-resistant bacteria utilizing varying exposure times, pulse durations, and laser fluencies to determine which dose is more effective on S. aureus bacteria. Method: The laser used in this study was the alexandrite laser which was considered a pulsed laser and had the following parameters: The wavelength was 755 nm, the beam diameter was (14 mm), the exposure times varied (30, 60, 90) seconds, the laser fluency (5, 10, 15 and 20 J.Cm-2). The study was carried out after the bacteria were diagnosed as being antibioticresistant. They were exposed to different doses of Alexandrite laser. Three samples of bacteria were exposed to laser beams for 30 seconds with a 5ms pulse duration and with a laser fluency of 5J/cm2, and this process was repeated with laser fluencies of 10, 15, and 20. This procedure was repeated using exposure times of 60sec and 90sec. As well as, this process was repeated by exposure with 30 sec, 60 sec and 90 sec exposure times, 10ms and 20ms pulse durations and with different laser fluencies 5, 10, 15 and 20J/cm2, separately. Results: A significant reduction (p = <0.0001) in the mean values of the colony was observed with the increase of laser fluency doses compared with control at the same pulse duration. A significant reduction (p = <0.0001) in the mean count of the colonies was observed in the comparison between two laser fluences at the same pulse duration. In conclusion, the exposure times, pulse durations and laser fluencies of pulsed alexandrite laser showed an effect on the mean count of the colonies of S aureus bacteria and determined the effective dose. This study was aimed to investigate the response of two types of ornamental herbaceous plants (Wedelia trilobata and Jacobaea maritima 'Cirrus') to different agricultural environments and the application of potassium silicates to the living walls system LWS (Felt layer system) under the climate conditions of Baghdad city. Each experiment involved the cultivation of a different plant species, and the study duration was from September 15, 2021, to August 1, 2022. A Strip-Plot Design experiment was conducted using two factors: factor M with four levels of substrates (50% peatmoss and perlite (M1), 50% Vermicompost and perlite (M2), 50% Water hyacinth compost and perlite (M3), 50% wheat straw compost and perlite (M4)) and factor S with

Antibacterial effect of cardamom and black tea aqueous extract on mutans streptococci in comparison to chlorhexidine (in vitro study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Antimicrobial agents have been considered as having potential for the prevention of dental caries. This study aimed to test the effect of different concentrations of cardamom and black tea extracts on the sensitivity and growth of salivary mutans streptococci in comparison to chlorhexidine gluconate (0.2%) in vitro. Materials and methods: In this study. Mutans streptococci were isolated from saliva of 34 healthy people (aged between 22-40yrs). The bacteria was isolated, purifiedand diagnosed according to morphologicalcharacteristic and biochemical tests. Aqueous extracts of cardamom and black tea were prepared. Different concentrations of extracts were prepared and estimated in gm/ 100ml deionized water. The agar diffusion techn

The role of low level laser therapy on the expression of IL_1 beta in wound healing
...Show More Authors

Background: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been extensively applied to improve wound healing due to some biostimulatory properties presented by laser arrays apparently able to accelerate the repair of soft tissue injuries. However, the role of proinflammatory interlukines not been studied yet. IL_1 ? represent one of the most important poroinflammatory interlukines that involved in wound healing. The goal of this study was to investigate the effect of 790-805nm diode laser on the expression of IL_1 ? during wound healing in mice. Materials and Methods: Standard-sized wounds (1.5cm) were carried out in the face of 96 white albino mice. Half of them underwent LLLT treatment (360 J/cm 2) at 790-805 nm delivered immediately after wound pro

The Predication of the Type of Jupiter Radio Storm from Two Different Iraqi Locations
...Show More Authors

A program in Visual Basic language was designed to predict the type of radio storm that emitted from Jupiter at specific Local Time (LT) from two different Iraqi locations (Baghdad and Basra), such storms result from the Central Meridian Longitude (CML) of system ??? for Jupiter and phase of Io’s satellite (?Io). Some of these storms are related to position of Io (Io- A,B,C,D) and others are unrelated (non-Io-A,B,C,D) to its position. The input parameters for this program were user specified by determining the observer’s location (longitude), year, month and day. The output program results in form of tables provides the observer with information about the date and the LT of beginning and end of each type of emitted storm. Two Io-storm r

The effect of the marketing channel of the service on marine insurance losses: a case study in the Iraqi insurance company
...Show More Authors

All businesses seek to improve their levels of profits through various means, most notably their marketing channels, which ensure the delivery of their products to their customers in a safe manner in a timely manner. It considers losses to a minimum and that insurance companies place great interest in marine insurance losses because they often constitute huge amounts compared to other losses, hence the problem of research, which is centred on the type and size of the impact owned by the channel The Iraqi insurance company was chosen to be applied according to the intentional sample method because this company is closely related to the subject matter. The research has reached a set of conclusions, most notably that the choice of i

Factors affecting on in vitro release of miconazole from in situ ocular gel
...Show More Authors

The reason for conducting this study is to prolong release of miconazole in the ocular site of action by ocular-based gels (OBGs) formulations. The formulation factors affecting on the release from OBG should be studied using various gelling agents in various concentrations to achieve the improvement in retention and residence time in response to prolonged release. In this study, the formulations were prepared using carbopol 940, pectin, sodium alginate, poloxamer 407, and poly(methacrylic acid) at 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% w/v, respectively. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose E5 (HPMC E5) 1% was added as thickening agent/viscosity builder. The formulation containing carbopol 940, pectin and sodium alginate at 1.5% w/v, displayed a noticable im
