New Schiff-base ligand and metal complexes with Cr (Ш), Mn (II), Fe (II), Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) ions are reported. Ligand was prepared in two-step reaction. The reaction of 2-hydroxy-5-methylisophthalaldehyde with 3-Amino-1-propanol resulted in the isolation of precursor (3, 3'-((1E, 1'E)-(propane-1, 3-diylbis (azanylylidene)) bis (methanylylidene)) bis (2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzaldehyde)). The reaction of precursor with 4-Aminoantipyrine gave the required ligand;(4, 4'-(((1E, 1'E)-(((1E, 1'E)(propane-1, 3-diylbis (azanylylidene)) bis (methanyl ylidene)) bis (2-hydroxy-5-methyl-3, 1-phenylene)) bis (methanylylidene)) bis (azanyl ylid ene)) bis (1, 5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1, 2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one)) H 2 L. The reaction of this ligand with the appropriate metal ions gave metal complexes of the formulae [M 2 (L)(H 2 O) 2 Cl 2]. Cl 2, M= Cr (Ш),[M 2 (L) Cl 2 (H 2 O) 2], M= Mn (II), Fe (II),[M 2 (L)] Cl 2. H 2 O, M= Co (II), Ni (II),[M 2 (L) Cl 2] H 2 O, M= Cu (II). A range of techniques were used to confirm the entity of ligand and their complexes. The formation of ligand and mode of complexation and geometrical structure of complexes were verified using FTIR, electronic spectra, NMR, ESMS, magnetic susceptibility, micro-elemental analysis, metal content, chloride content and conductance. The analytical and spectroscopic data indicated the formation of four and six-coordinate for complexes. Biological evaluation of ligand and complexes against gram-positive bacteria (G+), Bacillus stubtili, Staphylococcus aureus, and gram-negative bacteria (G−), Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and compared with antibiotic drug (Cefotaxime) and two types of
Ternary semiconductors AB5C8 (A = Cu/Ag, B = In and C = S, Se or Te) have been investigated. The CuIn5S8 and AgIn5S8 have been synthesize in cubic spinel structure with space group (Fd3m), whereas CuIn5Se8, AgIn5Se8, CuIn5Te8 and AgIn5Te8 have tetragonal structures with space group P-42m. The relaxed crystal geometry, electrical properties such as electronic band structure and optoelectronic properties are predicted by using full potential method in this work. For the determination of relaxed crystal geometry, the gradient approximation (PBE-GGA) is used. All the studied compounds are semiconductors based on their band structures in agreement with the experimental results, and their bulk moduli are in the range 35 to 69 GPa. Wide absorption

These series were synthesized by many steps starting from 4- hydroxyacetophenone or 4-aminoacetophenone. The synthesized compounds were characterized using melting points, FTIR, C.H.N.S analysis and for some of them 1H NMR spectroscopy. The liquid crystalline properties were studied by hot stage polarizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry DSC. All compounds of series [III]a-c,[IV]a-c and compounds [V]n showed enantiotropic liquid crystal. While the series [VI]n showed nematic mesomorphism except [VI]8 did not s

The first route includes the synthesis of N-benzoic acid 1,2,3,-triazole derivatives (3),(4) by diazotation of methyl-2-amino benzoate and treating the resulted salt (1) with sodium azide and ethyl acetoacetate or acetyl acetone, respectively. In the second route, derivatives of pyrazole (8) pyrazolin-5-one (9), (10) were prepared by the reaction of the salt (1) with some active methylene compounds to give the corresponding hydrazones derivatives (5-7) which then they were treated with hydrazine hydrate. The third route afforded the synthesis of three derivatives (12), (15a), (15b) of thiazolidinone by two different methods. AII compounds were confirmed b

The first step involved preparation of 2, 2-diphthalimidyl ethanoic acid [2] via reaction of two moles of phthalimide with dichloroacetic acid. Treatment of the resulted imide with ethanol in the second step afforded 2, 2-diphthalimidyl ester [3] which inturn was introduced in reaction with hydrazine hydrate in the third step, producing the corresponding hydrazide derivative [4]. The synthesized hydazide was introduced in different synthetic paths including treatment with carbon disulfide in alkaline solution then with hydrazine hydrate to afford the new 1, 2, 4-triazole [10]. Reaction of compound [10] with different alde

This study considered key research on the structural behavior of CFST columns, covering various topics, including lightweight concrete, methods of concrete placement within steel tubes, and CFST columns with and without shear connectors. The literature review reveals that while several researchers have explored the use of shear connectors as a load-transfer mechanism in CFST columns, there is no consensus on the design methodology for connector resistance. Transition metal complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with 2-(4-antipyrine azo)-4-nitroaniline derived from 4-aminoantipyrine and 4-nitroaniline were synthesized. Characterization of these compounds has been done on the basis of elemental analysis, electronic data, FT-IR, UV-Vis and 1HNMR, as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The nature of the complexes formed were studied following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law obeyed over a concentration range (1×10-4 - 3×10-4 M). High molar absorbtivity of the complex solutions were observed. From the analytical data, the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1:2 (metal:ligand). On the basis of physicochemical data octa

Laue back reflection patterns for quartz crystal are indexed by using Orient Express- program to simulate orientation of single crystals from assignment of principle zones. An oriented quartz single crystal was used as a substrate to deposit Zn metal by controlled thermal evaporation to achieve single crystal films of Zn that are subsequently evaluated by x-ray powder diffraction.
