Transient mixed convection heat transfer in a confined porous medium heated at periodic sinusoidal heat flux is investigated numerically in the present paper. The Poisson-type pressure equation, resulted from the substituting of the momentum Darcy equation in the continuity equation, was discretized by using finite volume technique. The energy equation was solved by a fully implicit control volume-based finite difference formulation for the diffusion terms with the use of the quadratic upstream interpolation for convective kinetics scheme to discretize the convective terms and the temperature values at the control volume faces. The numerical study covers a range of the hydrostatic pressure head , , , , and ), sinusoidal amplitude range of ⁄ and time period values of ( ) . Numerical results show that the pressure contours lines are influenced by hydrostatic head variation and not affected with the sinusoidal amplitude and time period variation. It is found that the average Nusselt number decreases with time and pressure head increasing and decreases periodically with time and amplitude increasing. The effect of mixed corrosion inhibitors in cooling system was evaluated by using carbon steel specimens and weight loss analysis. The carbon steel specimens immersed in mixture of sodium phosphate (Na2 HPO4) used as corrosion inhibitor and sodium glocunate (C6 H11 NaO7) as a scale dispersant at different concentrations (20,40, 60, 80 ppm) and at different temperature (25,50,75 and 100)ºC for (1-5) days. The corrosion inhibitors efficiency was calculated by using uninhibited and inhibited water to give 98.1%. In this paper, our purpose is to study the classical continuous optimal control (CCOC) for quaternary nonlinear parabolic boundary value problems (QNLPBVPs). The existence and uniqueness theorem (EUTh) for the quaternary state vector solution (QSVS) of the weak form (WF) for the QNLPBVPs with a given quaternary classical continuous control vector (QCCCV) is stated and proved via the Galerkin Method (GM) and the first compactness theorem under suitable assumptions(ASSUMS). Furthermore, the continuity operator for the existence theorem of a QCCCV dominated by the QNLPBVPs is stated and proved under suitable conditions.
