Milling process is a common machining operation that is used in the manufacturing of complex surfaces. Machining-induced residual stresses (RS) have a great impact on the performance of machined components and the surface quality in face milling operations with parameter cutting. The properties of engineering material as well as structural components, specifically fatigue life, deformation, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and brittle fracture, can all be significantly influenced by residual stresses. Accordingly, controlling the distribution of residual stresses is indeed important to protect the piece and avoid failure. Most of the previous works inspected the material properties, tool parameters, or cutting parameters, but few of them provided the distribution of RS in a direct and singular way. This work focuses on studying and optimizing the effect of cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut for 6061-T3 aluminum alloy on the RS of the surface. The optimum values of geometry parameters have been found by using the L27 orthogonal array. Analysis and simulation of RS by using an artificial neural network (ANN) were carried out to predict the RS behavior due to changing machining process parameters. Using ANN to predict the behavior of RS due to changing machining process parameters is presented as a promising method. The milling process produces more RS at high cutting speed, roughly intermediate feed rate, and deeper cut, according to the results. The best residual stress obtained from ANN is ‒135.204 N/mm2 at a cutting depth of 5 mm, feed rate of 0.25 mm/rev and cutting speed of 1,000 rpm. ANN can be considered a powerful tool for estimating residual stress
The present study employed the NAG-4SX3-3D analyzer to precisely measure the energy response of the sensor. The goal was to enhance the understanding of this technology by providing expert information about the device. This technology offers an economical, quick, accurate, and sensitive approach. By utilizing the turbidity method, Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CPH) was quantified in pharmaceutical samples without the need for additional substances. CPH is expected to undergo a direct reaction with calcium hexacyanoferrate, resulting in the formation of white precipitates. The linear range for CPH measurement falls within the range of (0.008–30) mM. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for six repetitions at concentrations of (6 and

However, their poor heat diffusivities and suboptimal containment designs severely limit their decent storage capabilities. In these systems, the arrangement of tubes conveying the heat transport fluid (HTF) plays a crucial role in heat communication between the PCM and HTF during phase transition. This study investigates a helical coil tube-and-shell thermal storage system integrated with a novel central return tube to enhance heat transfer effectiveness. Plum seeds and activated carbon produced were characterized in terms of their physical and chemical composition using Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements, field emission scanning electr
Gundelia, a genus of flowering plants native to the Mediterranean region, particularly in Iraq, holds promise as a sustainable adsorbent for the treatment of dye-polluted water. This study explores the potential of Gundelia seeds (GS) waste as a biobased adsorbent for removing methylene blue dye from synthesized wastewater. Utilizing various analytical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), we assessed GS as an active adsorbent with performance comparable to fabricated and expensive composites. Key parameters such as pH (3-11), pH at the point of zero charge, temperature (298-328 K), dose (0.02-0.1 g), dye concentration (10-50 ppm), and

A 39-yearold male in a critical condition presented to casualty department with a through-and-through chest gunshot wound. Chest X-ray showed left haemothorax; an urgent chest tube was introduced and central venous access was introduced via the right femoral vein. The guided wire used in the procedure was unintentionally pushed to reach the right ventricular apex. Echocardiography confirmed FB location. Once stabilised, the patient was referred to Iraqi Centre of Cardiac Diseases, where transcatheter retrieval was performed. To stabilise the FB, a 6F pigtail catheter was used to create a U-shaped loop in the

The ability to form biofilm is considered as one of the most important virulence factors of coagulase negative staphylococci. There is only limited knowledge of the nature of S. haemolyticus biofilms. This study was aimed at evaluating the ability of S. haemolyticus strains to produce biofilm in the presence of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs). The biological synthesis of nanoparticles is an environmentally friendly approach for large-scale production of nanoparticles. Copper oxide nanoparticles were produced in the current study from the S. haemolyticus viable cell filtrate. UV-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, X-ray diffra

Surgical interference aims to achieve a perfect alignment of the joint surface, in addition to rigid fixation of the fracture for early re-habitation and early movement to retain the extensor mechanism of the knee joint. AIM: The aim of this study was to compare the radiological and functional outcomes of the displaced transverse patella fracture in adult patients treated by ORIF using tension band wiring versus cannulated screws with wiring. METHODS: A prospective analytic comparative study was conducted in Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital/Baghdad/Iraq for 18 months from Apr
