Prediction of unerupted canines and premolars widths in an Emirati population: development and validation of regression and machine learning models
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p> This study aimed to develop a more accurate model for predicting the widths of unerupted canines and premolars in Emirati children, using deep learning and machine learning techniques. Dental models of 380 Emirati individuals aged 15–30 years were collected. The mesiodistal widths of permanent teeth were measured with a standardized orthodontic digital caliper. Regression models were developed using linear regression, Support Vector Regression (SVR; machine learning), and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN; deep learning). The widths of mandibular lateral incisors, central incisors, and the summed width of mandibular incisors were used as predictors. A two-tailed paired t-test was used to assess differences between measured and predicted values. Model performance was evaluated using pass rate (defined as predictions within ± 1 mm of measured values), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and coefficient of determination (R 2 ). The dataset was randomly divided into training (70%), validation (20%), and test (10%) sets. A statistically significant difference ( P  < 0.001) was found between the values predicted by the Tanaka–Johnston equations and the measured values. In contrast, no significant differences ( P  > 0.05) were observed between the measured values and those predicted by newly derived models. The highest average pass rate (78.5%, MAE 0.66) was achieved with linear regression using one predictor (summed width of the mandibular incisors). The Tanaka–Johnston method showed limited validity in the Emirati population. Population-specific regression equations significantly improved prediction accuracy, while machine-learning approaches enhanced model stability without outperforming well-calibrated linear regression models, supporting the use of simple, interpretable models for clinically reliable mixed-dentition space analysis. </p>

Comparative Analysis of The Combined Model (Spatial and Temporal) and Regression Models for Predicting Murder Crime
...Show More Authors

This research dealt with the analysis of murder crime data in Iraq in its temporal and spatial dimensions, then it focused on building a new model with an algorithm that combines the characteristics associated with time and spatial series so that this model can predict more accurately than other models by comparing them with this model, which we called the Combined Regression model (CR), which consists of merging two models, the time series regression model with the spatial regression model, and making them one model that can analyze data in its temporal and spatial dimensions. Several models were used for comparison with the integrated model, namely Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), Decision Tree Regression (DTR), Random Forest Reg

Development and Validation of HPLC Method For the Detection of Fusidic Acid Loaded in Non-ionic and Cationic Nanoemulsion-Based Gels
...Show More Authors

Fusidic acid (FA) is a well-known pharmaceutical antibiotic used to treat dermal infections. This experiment aimed for developing a standardized HPLC protocol to determine the accurate concentration of fusidic acid in both non-ionic and cationic nano-emulsion based gels. For this purpose, a simple, precise, accurate approach was developed. A column with reversed-phase C18 (250 mm x 4.6 mm ID x 5 m) was utilized for the separation process. The main constituents of the HPLC mobile phase were composed of water: acetonitrile (1: 4); adjusted at pH 3.3. The flow rate was 1.0 mL/minute. The optimized wavelength was selected at 235 nm. This approach achieved strong linearity for alcoholic solutions of FA when loaded at a serial concentrati

Artificial Intelligent Models for Detection and Prediction of Lost Circulation Events: A Review
...Show More Authors

Lost circulation or losses in drilling fluid is one of the most important problems in the oil and gas industry, and it appeared at the beginning of this industry, which caused many problems during the drilling process, which may lead to closing the well and stopping the drilling process. The drilling muds are relatively expensive, especially the muds that contain oil-based mud or that contain special additives, so it is not economically beneficial to waste and lose these muds. The treatment of drilling fluid losses is also somewhat expensive as a result of the wasted time that it caused, as well as the high cost of materials used in the treatment such as heavy materials, cement, and others. The best way to deal with drilling fluid losses
