Background: The posterior slope of the articular eminence of completely edentulous patients compared to patients with maintained occlusion shows significant flattening. This study aimed to correlate between the flattening of the posterior slope of the articular eminence, with dental status, age, genders, on both sides using computed tomography. This research considers a proposed mechanism relying on frictional interactions between the grasped object and the gripper, thus attaining a case of self-locking condition for a tendon type robotic gripper. A mathematical model was derived for this proposed mechanism, upon which a special purpose apparatus was fabricated and tested. Both results, theoretically and experimentally, are in good agreement, showing that the weight of the grasped object played a major role in attaining the self-locking condition.

Objective: To evaluate nurses' practices toward coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients in the

Determination of the level of adipokines (obestatin, vaspin, tumor necrosis factor-? and interleukin-6)in hypo-and hyperthyroid patients from Educational Baghdad Hospital in Baghdad City was investigated. Fifty patients with hypothyroidism and Fifty patients with hyperthyroidism were selected. A control group of thirty euthyroid persons was included. Blood was collected by vein puncture and serum was separated and stored at –20C. Adipokines (obestatin, vaspin, tumor necrosis factor-? and interleukin-6) were estimated using ELISA method. The findings show a significant (p<0.05) increase in obestatin level in hypothyroid patients, while there is no significant difference in hyperthyroid patientsas compared with the euthyroid subjects.
