Study of the Effect of Diabetes Mellitus I on Bone Mineral Density of Upper and Lower Limbs by Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry
...Show More Authors

Background: Bone mineral density (BMD) has been assessed using Dual-Energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). This procedure is considered to be of vital importance in assessing the general condition of individuals concerning their skeletal mineralization. BMD is measured according to the results of the DEXA examination of the vertebral column and pelvis. Although diabetes mellitus (D.M.)is known to affect BMD, the information regarding this relationship is not currently particularly clear. Objective: This study concentrates on the point that the assessment of BMD for the vertebral column is insuffi-cient to give a realistic and correct picture of the mineralization of the remaining part of the skeleton. Besides, this study elicited a generalized view of the mineralization of the different body parts between genders and between the left and right sides of the body. The effect of DM I on BMD was evaluated well in this research. Method: This study involved 165 patients complaining of bone pain (85 male and 80 female), about half of whom suffered from diabetes, involving both genders. Further, 90 healthy volunteers had been studied and were considered to constitute the control group. All individuals (255) in this study were exposed to the study of their BMD via DEXA for all parts of the body. Results: The DEXA exam revealed highly statistically significant differences between the sides of the body in the same subject. In addition, there were significant differences in BMD between females and males and highly statistically significant differences between the control and patient groups with DM I. Finally, this study offered strong evidence that the BMD of the vertebral column and pelvis did not give an accurate picture of mineralization in the different parts of the body for a given subject. In conclusion, the DEXA scan for the whole body and each part separately shows promising results as alternative parameters of the DEXA scan for the spine or hip only for accurate diagnosis. Our results indicate that the BMD of the left and right sides for women was less than for men in all cases (average, osteoporosis, and DMI with osteoporosis) for the same sides and between their upper and lower limbs. Patients with DMI revealed significant reductions in BMD in comparison with other subjects who were not diabetic, even if they had osteoporosis. Keywords: DEXA scan, Osteoporosis, DMI, BMD

Bruxism and Sleep Quality Among Iraqi Dental Students
...Show More Authors

Background: Undergraduate dental students are more susceptible to situations of stress that affected quality of sleep, such profiles of stress may result in sleep bruxism and/or awake bruxism, parafunctions that can affect oral and general health. The aim of the study was to evaluate the association of sleep bruxism, awake bruxism and sleep quality among dental students. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was performed including 260 Iraqi dental students from university of Baghdad aged from 20to25years old. Students enrolled in the third and fifth class participated in the study. The Pittsburgh Sleep Questionnaire Index (PSQI) was used for data collection. The PSQI was distributed during lecture classes. Sleep bruxism and awake

Language Ecology or Ecolinguistics: Conceptual and Theoretical Discussions
...Show More Authors

Language ecology is the interactions between the environment and language. Such a discipline, ‘language ecology’ or ‘ecolinguistics has been founded by Einar Haugen’. Accordingly,  the study aims at qualitatively reviewing the theoretical and conceptual issues surrounding the subject of language ecology  by tracing the roots of language ecology. It further highlights the fundamental inconsistencies between how the concept of ecology is perceived in sociology and biology, and is applied to language, particularly, transposing the main central concepts of bio-ecology, such as relationship/interaction, environment, and organism to human language and theory of ecological-linguistic. The theory wavers among placing the focus

COMPUTER-BASED ECG SIGNAL ANALYSIS AND MONITORING SYSTEM
...Show More Authors

This paper deals with the design and implementation of an ECG system. The proposed system gives a new concept of ECG signal manipulation, storing, and editing. It consists mainly of hardware circuits and the related software. The hardware includes the circuits of ECG signals capturing, and system interfaces. The software is written using Visual Basic languages, to perform the task of identification of the ECG signal. The main advantage of the system is to provide a reported ECG recording on a personal computer, so that it can be stored and processed at any time as required. This system was tested for different ECG signals, some of them are abnormal and the other is normal, and the results show that the system has a good quality of diagno

The definition of the role of any institution in society is achieved through its objectives, The same is true for the military and how to deal with security threats in the humanitarian field ,Terrorism, which has almost replaced the traditional pattern of war, has waged a street war and intimidated individuals, families and society ,On the other hand, he found someone to meet him from a popular crowd of volunteers to defend their homeland from different sects, sects and religions,  Thus, our study will be exposed to the role of popular mobilization in human security from a sociological point of view in Samarra, a field study of 100 male and female respondents.

The paradigm and domain of data security is the key point as per the current era in which the data is getting transmitted to multiple channels from multiple sources. The data leakage and security loopholes are enormous and there is need to enforce the higher levels of security, privacy and integrity. Such sections incorporate e-administration, long range interpersonal communication, internet business, transportation, coordinations, proficient correspondences and numerous others. The work on security and trustworthiness is very conspicuous in the systems based situations and the private based condition. This examination original copy is exhibiting the efficacious use of security based methodology towards the execution with blockchain

Coeliac disease is an immunologically mediated disease of the small intestinal mucosa, characterized by flattening of the small intestinal villi, increased numbers of intra-epithelial lymphocytes and inflammatory cell infiltrates in the lamina propria, resulting in gut damage and nonspecific malabsorption of nutrients. The disease is elicited by ingestion of gluten, a protein found in several cereals, principally wheat, but also barley and to a lesser extent, oats. Successful treatment is avoidance of dietary gluten. Long-standing evidence suggests a T-cell-mediated response to peptides derived from the gliadin fraction of wheat gluten, leading to immunologically mediated intestinal injury in genetically susceptible individuals. Simulation and its applications in contemporary graphic design

The simulation is the oldest theory in art, since it appeared in the Greek aesthetic thought of the philosopher Plato, as we find in many of the thinkers and philosophers over a wide period of time to reach our world today. Our fascination with art in general and design art in particular is due to the creativity and innovations of the artist through the simulation, as well as the peculiarities in this simulation, which give objects signs and signals that may have an echo that sometimes does not exist in their physical reality.
