Use of Flavonoids and Green Tea Extracts as Antioxidants Induced by Oxidative Stress: A Review Article
...Show More Authors

The aim of this work is to shed light on the importance of medicinal plants, especially those that have extracts that have a direct effect on human health. The study and identification of botany is necessary because human life has become closely linked to the life of plants as food . In addition to using plants as food, primitive man did not stop at this point, but rather developed their use to hunt prey and also used toxic plant materials in wars. With the passage of time, the ancient man was able to link the wild plants that cover the surface of the earth and the diseases that afflict him, so he used these plants or Parts of it are for treatment. A medicinal plant is defined as one or more of its parts that contain one or more chemicals in a small or large concentration and can treat one or more specific diseases or reduce the symptoms of infection if they depend on this plant part in its natural form or through chemicals effective extracted from it. green tea)Camellia Sinensis (is one of the most important natural herbs used in this field, because its chemical compounds contain beneficial effects for the body, such as its anti-inflammatory, anti-decay, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant effects . Flavonoids play a very important role in many extracts and medical preparations and their wide use in pharmacology. They are among the high-voltage compounds that can stimulate the activities of some enzymes and can change the behavior and function of a wide range of cellular systems due to their characteristics an antioxidant; it has the action of capturing free radicals, especially hydroxyl radical . It has a high ability against free radicals that cause many diseases, as it has a protective effect on blood vessels, arteriosclerosis and hepatocytes. It also shows anti-inflammatory, allergic, gastric ulcer activity and burning fat as it has significant anti-tumor activity. We conclude from this study that green tea and some plants that contain in their extracts phenolic compounds (flavonoids) play a major role in reducing the severity of common diseases, in addition to being a good antioxidant. Keywords: Green tea, Flavonoids, Antioxidants, Free Radicals.

The Use of Left Ventricular Myocardial Stiffness Index as a Predictor of Myocardial Performance in Patients with Systemic Hypertension
...Show More Authors

Our aim was to investigate the changes in the myocardium stiffness index for patients suffering from systemic hypertension, and to assess their left ventricular performance. We studied 263 hypertensive patients and 166 healthy subjects as a control group. By using conventional Doppler echocardiography, the following parameters were measured—Left ventricular end diastolic diameter, left ventricular end systolic diameter, transmitral early velocity, isovolumic relaxation time, and isovolumic contraction time. Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) was used in the measurements of the early mitral annular velocity (Ea) and the diastolic stiffness was obtained by calculating the ratio E\Ea\LVIDd. Index myocardial performance (IMP) was calculated

Spectrophotometric Determination of Mesalazine in Pharmaceutical Preparations by Oxidative Coupling Reactions with m-Aminophenol and 2,6- Dihydroxybenzoic Acid
...Show More Authors

Tow simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric methods for the determination of mesalazine in pharmaceutical preparations have been carried out. The proposed methods depend on oxidative coupling reaction of mesalazine with m-aminophenol in the existence of N-bromosuccinamide in alkaline medium (method A) and 2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid in the existence of sodium metaperiodate in basic medium (method B) to produce colored products , show highest absorptions at 640 (nm) and 515 (nm), alternately. Beer’s law was consistent in concentrations extent of 1.25-30 and 0.5-12.5 (µg.mL-1) with molar absorptivity of 0.36×104 and 0.77×104 L.mol-1.cm<

This study was carried out in order to determine the toxic, mutagenic and antimutagenic effects for Mallow (Malva parviflora) in comparison to its mutagenic effect of Ultraviolet (UV) because it is consider physical mutagen by using parameters for the extract pri , with , post UV exposure by using bacterial system (G-system). The used system consisted of three isolates G3 Bacillus spp., G12 Arthrobacter spp. and G27 Brevibacterium spp.. The study depended on recording survival fraction (Sx) for studying the effects and induction of Streptomycin and Refampicin resistance mutants as a genetic markers.Water Extract was prepared from fresh and dry mallow leaves, stems, flowers and roots, in optimum concentration equal to (125µg/ml) which is

Formation of Compressive Residual Stress by Face Milling Steel AISI 1045
...Show More Authors

Abstract

Machining residual stresses correlate very closely with the cutting parameters and the tool geometries. This research work aims to investigate the effect of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on the surface residual stress of steel AISI 1045 after face milling operation. After each milling test, the residual stress on the surface of the workpiece was measured by using X-ray diffraction technique. Design of Experiment (DOE) software was employed using the response surface methodology (RSM) technique with a central composite rotatable design to build a mathematical model to determine the relationship between the input variables and the response. The results showed that both

Background: Antibiotic resistance in Escherichia coli is a major concern for public health, as it reduces options to treat infections such at urinary tract infection (UTI). Green tea (Camellia sinensis) and other natural plant products have been of interest for their ability to modify antibiotic susceptibility of bacteria, a capacity largely attributed to bioactive polyphenols. Objective: The purpose of this work was to investigate in vitro the potential effect of green tea leaf ethanol extract on the antibiotic susceptibility of E. coli isolates. Materials and Methods: Green tea leaves was extracted using ethanol and re-dissolved 1% DMSO. Five concentrations of green tea leaves ethanol extract 0.60, 0.50, 0.30, 0.16 and 0
