Removable dental prostheses remain a reliable treatment for edentulous patients. Conventional fabrication requires multiple steps, whereas computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM), particularly 3D printing, offers faster and more cost-effective alternatives. This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the effect of sandblasting on surface roughness and shear bond strength of silicone soft liner bonded to 3D-printed and heat-cured acrylic denture base materials. Eighty specimens were divided into four groups: heat-cured control, 3D-printed control, heat-cured sandblasted, and 3D-printed sandblasted. Surface roughness was measured using a profilometer, while shear bond strength was tested with a universal testing machine. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Games-Howell post hoc test. Sandblasting significantly increased both surface roughness and shear bond strength compared to untreated groups. The 3D-printed specimens showed higher roughness values after sandblasting than heat-cured ones. Sandblasting improves surface roughness and bonding performance of both heat-cured and 3D-printed denture base resins, supporting its use as an effective surface treatment in prosthodontics.
This paper studies the effects of stiffeners on shear lag in steel box girders with stiffened flanges. A three-dimensional linear finite element analysis using STAAD.Pro V8i program has been employed to evaluate and determine the actual top flange stress distribution and effective width in steel box girders. The steel plates of the flanges and webs have been modeled by four-node isoparametric shell elements, while the stiffeners have been modeled as beam elements. Different numbers (4, 8, and 15) for the steel stiffeners have been used in this study to establish their effects on the shear lag and longitudinal stresses in the flange. Using stiffeners reduced the magnitude of the top flange longitudinal stresses about 40%, but did

Show MoreThis paper reports a study of the effects of steel plate diaphragms on shear lag in steel box girders within the elastic range of material property and without including the effect of plate buckling. STAAD.Pro program had been utilized to evaluate and determine top flange stress distribution and the actual effective flanges width in steel box girders with or without diaphragms. Shell elements had been used to model the flanges, webs, and diaphragms. Different numbers, thickness and types for the plate diaphragms have been used to determine their effects on the shear lag in the flange. Using diaphragms had affected slightly shear lag. The diaphragms number affected obviously the shear lag in the top flange, especially the magnitude of maximu

It can achieved by developing an industrial mechanical product that had no design schemes throughout the 3D-Scanners. The aim of getting a geometric CAD model from 3D scanner is to present physical model. Generally, this used in specific applications, like commercial plan and manufacturing tasks. Having a digital data as stereolithography (STL) format. However, this substance is neither osteoinductive nor osteoconductive, preventing direct bone apposition. Modifying the PEKK with bioactive elements like strontium hydroxyapatite is one method to overcome this (Sr-HA). Due to the technique's capacity to provide better control over the coating's properties, RF magnetron sputtering has been found to be a particularly useful technique for deposition. Materials and methods : With specific sputtering conditions, the RF magnetron technique was employed to provide a homogeneous and thin coating on Polyetherketoneketone substrates.. the coatings were characterized by Contact angle, adhesion test, X-ray

To measure and identify the hydraulic characteristics of the flow system, the model simulation is necessary to study and get the results of the hydraulic properties to specify Manning coefficient of the Euphrates River. In this study, the reach is extended along the Euphrates River from Haditha Dam to Ramadi Barrage with a distance of 169km. The HEC-RAS model was implemented to simulate the flow within the study reach. The geometry of the river was represented by more than two hundred cross-sections surveyed in 2013 and 2021. The model was calibrated using some observed discharges at the Heet gage station for records of th
