Thermal and Mechanical Behaviour of Heat-resistant Clay-silica Composites

The ceramic composite with different proportions of clay and silica was prepared with a grain size of 70 μm and the weight percentage was selected for four groups (clayx silica100-x) were x q15, 25, 30 and 50. In this manuscript, for each pressured sample, a sintering procedure was carried out for 3 hours under static air and at various sintering temperatures (1000, 1100, 1200, 1400)°C. After sintering, the density, porosity, water absorption, compression strength and thermal conductivity were measured. The best results were obtained using a mixture of 15% clay and 85% silica which were sintering at 1400°C for three hours under air.

Enhancement of Heat Exchanger Performance by Using Dimpled Tube

The enhancement of heat exchanger performance was investigated using dimpled tubes tested at different Reynolds numbers, in the present work four types of dimpled tubes with a specified configuration manufactured, tested and then compared performance with the smooth tube and other passive techniques performance. Predicting of Temperature Distribution in Direct Contact Heat Transfer

Refrigerant Rl2 and R134a were used for the dispersed phase, while water and brine were the immiscible continuous phase. Electrical and Optical Properties of :H Thin Films Prepared by Thermal Evaporation Method

A range of growth conditions, Ge contents, dopant concentration (Al and As), and substrate temperature, were employed. Structural and electrical properties of tellurium thin films prepared by vacuum thermal deposition

Preserving and saving energy have never been more important, thus the requirement for more effective and efficient heat exchangers has never been more important. However, in order to pave the way for the proposal of a truly efficient technique, there is a need to understand the shortcomings and strengths of various aspects of heat transfer techniques. This review aims to systematically identify these characteristics two of the most popular passive heat transfer techniques: nanofluids and helically coiled tubes. The review indicated that nanoparticles improve thermal conductivity of base fluid and that the nanoparticle size, as well as the concentrations of the nanoparticles plays a major role in the effectiveness of the nanofluids.
