Metal corrosion is a destructive process for many industrial operations, including oil well acidizing and acid pickling. Therefore, numerous efforts made by many researchers to control the steel corrosion. In the present work, A (E)-4-(((4-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) phenyl) amino) methyl)-2-methoxyphenol (MOPM) has been synthesized and characterized as a new corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid. FTIR and 1 HNMR were used in the diagnosis of MOPM, while electrochemical polarization technique was employed to test the performance of inhibitor at various temperatures and inhibitor concentrations. Electrochemical studies showed that MOPM acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with a maximum inhibition efficiency of
... Show MoreNumber of new polyester and polyamide are prepared as derivatives from 5,5`-(1,4-phenylene)-bis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-amine) [C1], three series of heterocyclic compounds were synthesized. The first series includes the Schiff base [C2] prepared from the reaction between compound [C1] with p-hydroxy benzaldehyde in presence of acetic acid and absolute ethanol , then these derivatives have reaction with maleic anhydride , phthalic anhydride and sodium azide, respectively to obtain the compounds [C3-5] contaning (oxazepine and tetrazole) rings. The third series of compounds [C1-5] has transformed to their polymers [C6-15] by reaction with adipoyl chloride and glutroyl chloride , respectively. The reaction was followed by T.L.C and ident
... Show MoreThe search involve the synthesis of some new 1,3-oxazepine and 1,3-diazepine derivatives were synthesized from Schiff base. The Schiff base (VIII) prepared from reaction of aldehyde (IV) derived from L-ascorbic acid with aromatic amine ([2-(4- nitrophenyl)-5-(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole] (VII). Oxazepine compounds (IX-XI) were synthesized from the cyclic condensation of Schiff base (VIII) with (maleic, phthalic and 3-nitrophthalic) anhydride, compounds (IX-XI) that were reacted with p-methoxyaniline to give diazepine derivatives (XII-XIV). The structures of the new synthesized compounds have been confirmed by physical properties and spectroscopy measurements such as FTIR, and some of them by 1 H-NMR, 13 CNMR, Mass, and evaluated
... Show MoreBacterial resistance caused by antibiotic misuse has garnered substantial attention, prompting numerous researchers to develop materials that can combat these resistant pathogens. The hydrothermal method is employed to produce γ-MnO2 nanostars and to coat them with Fe2O3 nanoparticles. The materials are characterized using XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, and UV-vis spectrophotometry, as well as antioxidant and antibacterial activities. The nano γ-MnO2 star shapes are coated with tiny spherical Fe2O3 nanoparticles with diameters of 35-47 nm. The peaks located at the crystal planes (120), (031), (131), (230), (300), (160), (421), and (003) are represented by the values of 2θ = 22.36º, 34.36º, 37.22º, 38.78º, 42.56º, 56.14º, 65.48º and 68.
... Show MoreThe complexes of Schiff base of 4-aminoantipyrine and 1,10-phenanthroline with metal ions Mn (II), Cu (II), Ni (II) and Cd (II) were prepared in ethanolic solution, these complexes were characterized by Infrared , electronic spectra, molar conductance, Atomic Absorption ,microanalysis elemental and magnetic moment measurements. From these studies the tetrahedral geometry structure for the prepared complexes were suggested. The prepared ligand of 4-aminoantipyrine was characterized by using Gc-mass spectrometer .
