Theoretical and Experimental Reflection Coefficients in Flexible Tubes as a Function of the Mach Number

The standard formulation of Wave Intensity Analysis (WIA) assumes that the flow velocity (U) in the conduit is <;<; the velocity of propagation of waves (c) in the system, and Mach number, M=U/c, is negligible. However, in the large conduit arteries, U is relatively high due to ventricular contraction and c is relatively low due to the large compliance; thus M is > 0, and may not be ignored. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify experimentally the relationship between M and the reflection coefficient in vitro. Combinations of flexible tubes, of 2 m in length with isotropic and uniform circular cross sectional area along their longitudinal axes, were used to present mother and daughter tubes to produce a range of reflection coeffic

Competitiveness of an enterprise under a flexible manufacturing system. Manufacturing strategy and flexibility - Case study

The research has designed for studying the relationship between manufacturing strategy and its flexibility under the flexible manufacturing system with their reflection on the competitive environmental performance of the firm. To interpret and tackle the problem, a hypothesis has formulated stating that “ the competitive performance of a firm is interpreted by the manufacturing strategy and flexibility which are derived from the firm and its business  strategies under the flexible manufacturing system”. Related literatures with their theoretical dissertations, which enhanced the thoughtful content, have analyzed. An illustrative case study on the flexible manufacturing system at Toyota Motors Corporation working at the g

An Approximation Technique for Fractional Order Delay Differential Equations

In this research article, an Iterative Decomposition Method is applied to approximate linear and non-linear fractional delay differential equation. The method was used to express the solution of a Fractional delay differential equation in the form of a convergent series of infinite terms which can be effortlessly computable.
The method requires neither discretization nor linearization. Solutions obtained for some test problems using the proposed method were compared with those obtained from some methods and the exact solutions. The outcomes showed the proposed approach is more efficient and correct.

Determination of Differential Cross-Section of (n+89Y) Elastic and Inelastic Scattering using Eikonal Approximation

Neutron differential-elastic and inelastic scattering cross-sections of Yttrium-89 isotope were calculated at energies 8,10,12,14, and 17 MeV, at angles distributed between 20o and 180o in the center of mass frame. The obtained results data were interpreted using a spherical optical potential model and Eikonal approximation, to examine the effect of the first-order Eikonal correction on the effective potential. The real and imaginary parts of optical potential were calculated. It was found that the nominal imaginary potential increase monotonically while the effective imaginary one has a pronounced minimum around r = 6fm and then increases. The analysis of the relative energy of the projectile and reaction
