Schiff bases (Sh1-Sh3) have been synthesized (p-aminophenol) was condensed with different aromatic aldehyde in ethanol inthe presence of glacial acetic acid as catalyst. These Schiff bases on treatment with monochloroacetyl choride gave 3-chloro-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-(substituted)azetidin-2-one(Az4-Az6), with αmercaptoacetic acid gave 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-( substituted)thiazolidin-4-one (Th7-Th9) and with anthranilic acid gave 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2(substituted)-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one (Qu10-Qu12). The purity of the derivatives was confirmed by TLC. The some compoundsidentify by (FT-IR and1H, 13C-NMR) data. Some of derivatives were evaluated activity against several microbesto determine ability to inhibit bacterial in some heterocyclic structures.
The nanocomposite on the base of synthesis Copper iodide
nanoparticles and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA/CuI) with different
concentration of CuI were obtained using casting technique.
PVA/CuI polymer composite samples have been prepared and
subjected to characterizations using FTIR spectroscopy, The FTIR
spectral analysis shows remarkable variation of the absorption peak
positions with increasing CuI concentration. The obtained results by
X-ray diffraction indicated the formation of cubic CuI particles. The
effects of CuI concentrations on the optical properties of the PVA
films were studied in the region of wavelength, (190-1100) nm.

This study has been conducted to examin the effect of sodium propionate at different level of 0.03,0.06,0.10% on the number of bacteria and mold and to extend the storage life of laboratory processed biscuit. The presence and prevalence of V. cholerae were investigated in forty five water samples collected from different locations of Tiger River/ Baghdad city. Twenty one isolates were isolated by adopting a simple isolation techniques. The final identification revealed that only three isolates were confirmed as V. cholerae. They were named 1J, 1R and Dial 131 which are all serogrouped as non-O1.
