Salicylaldehyde was reacting with 2-amino benzoic acid to produce the Schiff base ligand benzoic acid 2-salicylidene (L). The prepared ligand was identified by Microelemental Analysis, FT.IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. A new complexes of Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II) and Zn(II) with Schiff base was prepared in aqueous ethanol with a (1:1) M:L. The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N) Analysis, FT.IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. Biological activity of the ligand and complexes against three selected types of bacteria were also examined. Some of the complexes exhibit good bacterial activities. From the obtained data the tetrahedral structure was suggested for all prepared complexes.

A surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based coreless optical fiber was developed and implemented using single- and multi-mode optical fibers. The sensor is also utilized to evaluate refractive indices and concentrations of hemoglobin in blood samples, with 40 nm thickness of (20 nm Au and 20 nm Ag) to increase the sensitivity. It is found in practice that when the sensitive refractive index increases, the resonant wavelength increases due to the decrease in energy.

The analytic solution for the unsteady flow of generalized Oldroyd- B fluid on oscillating rectangular duct is studied. In the absence of the frequency of oscillations, we obtain the problem for the flow of generalized Oldroyd- B fluid in a duct of rectangular cross- section moving parallel to its length. The problem is solved by applying the double finite Fourier sine and discrete Laplace transforms. The solutions for the generalized Maxwell fluids and the ordinary Maxwell fluid appear as limiting cases of the solutions obtained here. This study aimed to assess white spot lesions in patients with fixed orthodontic appliance at different time intervals.
