Synthetic and Characterization of Some new Schiff bases Complexes with CoII, NiII, CuII and PdII ions
...Show More Authors

A new ligand (H4L) and its complexes with (CoII, NiII, CuII and PdII). This ligand was prepared in two steps, in the first step a solution of terephthaldehyde in methanol reacted under refluxe with 1,2-phenylenediamine to give precursore compound which reacted in the second step with 2,4- dihydroxybenzaldehyde to give the ligand. The complexes were synthesized by direct reaction of the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand. The ligand and complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods [FT-IR, UV-vis, 1HNMR, HPLC and atomic absorption], chloride contant in addition to conductivity measurement. The stability constant K and Gibbs free energy ∆G were calculated for [[Ni2(H2L)Cl2], [Cu2(H2L)Cl2] complexes using spectrophotometer method. The obtained values indicate that these complexes are stable in their solution. The data of these measurements suggest a distorted tetrahedral geometry for CoII, NiII, and CuII complexes and a square planar for PdII complex. The biological activity for the ligand (H4L), and its complexes [Ni2(H2L)Cl2], [Pd2(H2L)Cl2] were studied.

The synthesized Schiff base ligand (H2L) and the second ligand 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) are used to prepare the new complexes [Al(L)(phen)]Cl, K[Ag(L)(phen)] and [Pb(L)(phen)]. The synthesized compounds are characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurements, micro elemental analysis (C.H.N), mass spectrometry, molar conductance, FT-infrared, UV-visible, atomic absorption (AA), 13C-NMR, and 1H-NMR spectral studies. The characterization of the

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization for Some Metal ion Complexes with 2-Hydroxy-3-((5-Mercapto-1,3,4-Thiadiazol-2-yl)Diazenyl)-1-Naphthaldehyde
...Show More Authors

New metal ion complexes were synthesized with the general formula; K[PtLCl4], [ReLCl4] and K[ML(Cl)2] where M = Pd(II), Cd(II), Zn(II) and Hg(II), from the Azo ligand (HL) [2-Hydroxy-3-((5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)diazenyl)-1-naphth aldehyde] (HL) the ligand was synthesized from (2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) and (5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol). The ligand and its metal complexes are characterized by phisco- chemical spectroscopic techniques (FT.IR, UV-Vis and Mass spectra, elemental analysis, molar conductivity, Atomic Absorption, Chloride contain and magnetic susceptibility). The spectral data suggest that the (HL) behaves as a bidentate ligand in all complexes. These studies revealed tetrahedral geometries for all metal complexes

Metal (III) and (II) coordination compounds of o- phenylenediamine, oxalic acid dihydrate and 8-hydroxyquinoline were synthesized for mixed ligand complexes and characterized using FT-IR, UV-Vis and mass spectra, atomic absorption, elemental analysis, electric conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. In addition, thermal behavior (TGA) of the metal complexes (1-6) showed good agreement with the formula suggested from the analytical data. The stoichiometric reaction between the metal (III) and (II) ions with three various ligands in molar ratio at aqueous ethyl alchol for (1:1:1:1) (M: O-PDA: OA: 8-HQ) [where M = Cr+3, Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2. Small ring heterocycles containing nitrogen and sulfur have been under investigation for a long time because of their important medicinal properties. Among the wide range of heterocycles explored to develop pharmaceutically important molecules, thiadiazoles had played an important role in medicinal chemistry. A survey of literature had shown that compounds having thiadiazole nucleus possess a broad range of biological activities such as anti-inflammatory (1), antibacterial (2), and antifungal activities (3). Thiazine-4-one and their derivatives are import classes of compounds in organic and medicinal chemistry. The thiazine-4-one ring system is a core structure in various synthetic pharmaceutical agents, displaying a broad spectrum of biolo

Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Nucleoside Analogues from Substituted Benzimidazole via 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition
...Show More Authors

This paper includes the synthesis of some new nucleoside analogues starting with 2-substituted benzimidazole derivative (7-9), that synthesized by condensation of O-phenylenediamine with p-chloro benzaldehyde and two substituted benzoic acid , which on nucleophilic substitution with propargyl bromide gave a new N-substituted compounds (10-12). D-Fructose and D-galactose were chosen as a sugar moiety which were protected, brominated and azotated to give azido sugars (5) and (6), then they were subjected to 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with N-substuted compounds afforded bloked nucleoside analoges (13-16), which after hydrolysis gave our target the free nucleoside analogues (17-20). All prepared compounds were identified by FT-IR
