Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global health concern, with inappropriate antibiotic use in dentistry significantly contributing to this problem. While regional studies have examined dental students' antibiotic-related knowledge and practices, comprehensive evidence from Iraq remains limited. Objective The objective of this study is to evaluate the level of knowledge and awareness of antimicrobial stewardship principles and prescribing practices among Iraqi dental students and interns. Methods A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study was conducted among dental students in the clinical phase of education (fourth and fifth years) and dental interns from multiple Iraqi universities. The survey was distributed from October 2023 to June 2025 to assess the knowledge of antibiotics, awareness of prudent antibiotic use, and self-reported prescribing practices. Correlation analyses were performed to examine associations between knowledge, awareness, and practice domains. Results The participants (n = 569) demonstrated strong theoretical knowledge of antibiotics and a high awareness of prudent antibiotic use. However, a consistent gap between knowledge and clinical practice was identified. Knowledge and awareness domains were positively correlated, while both were inversely associated with practice scores, thus indicating a more cautious prescribing behavior among students with higher knowledge levels. A limited access to prescribing guidelines, insufficient practical training, and variability in institutional support were identified as key factors that influence the prescribing behavior. Differences between universities highlighted the significant role of educational environment and curriculum structure (p < 0.05). Conclusion Although Iraqi dental students possess adequate knowledge and awareness regarding antibiotic use and AMR, translating this understanding into consistent clinical practice remains challenging. Higher knowledge levels were associated with restrained prescribing, thus reflecting responsible antimicrobial stewardship rather than poor practice. These findings underscore the need to integrate structured antimicrobial stewardship training, standardized prescribing guidelines, and practical decision-making support into dental education. Strengthening these components is essential to bridge the knowledge–practice gap and prepare future dental practitioners to contribute effectively to combating AMR through responsible, evidence-based prescribing.
Background: Patients requiring renal biopsies have various glomerular diseases according to their demographic characteristics.
Objective: To study types of glomerular disease among adult Iraqi patients in a single center in Baghdad/Iraq
Material and Methods: A total of 120 native kidney biopsies were studied. All biopsies were adequate and were processed for Light Microscopy.
The age range of the study patients was 17-67 years, with a mean of 38.5 years. The mean follow up period was 28 weeks (4-52 weeks)
Indication for biopsy included: Nephrotic syndrome (N=72; 60%), Asymptomatic proteinuria (N=21; 17.5%), acute nephritic presentation (N=17; 14.16%), asymptomatic haematuria (N=10; 8.33%).
Results: Primary glomerulonephrit
Type 2 diabetes is a global public health problem especially in middle east countries and Iraq has not spared from this pandemic. The prevalence in Iraq. and rank in Middle East. Beside increasing in prevalence- also poor glucose control. Nutrition plays a critical role. This paper narratively review variables that affect reduce the incidence of T2DM in Iraq and affect nutritional status among Iraqi withT2DM. The factors contribute to T2DM were high rates of obesity and overweight, as well as levels of body fat indicate a high prevalence of poor glycemic control. Likewise, levels of physical activity are low among older Iraqis.
These factors, as well as disasters and wars that the Arab homeland exposed to and still under this exposure, in addition to the severe stress upon.
Iraqi Academics have been subjected to direct consequences of 2003 war. Exact figures are not known. It was mentioned. Others have been imprisoned, tortured, or kidnapped / threatened to be kidnapped etc. Their families have been subjected to similar traumatic experiences or threats. All theses stressors may have lead to Post Traumatic (PTSD) Experiences. These Traumatic experiences have lead to Dislocation, relocation and Immigration etc. All sectors of

This treatment method that requires patients to be adherent to hemodialysis attendance, dietary and fluid recommendations as well as adherence to prescribed medications to ensure success. The aim of the current study was to assess adherence, perception, and counseling among hemodialysis patients to different modalities of treatment (fluid restriction, dietary recommendations, medications, and hemodialysis schedules). A cross-sectional study carried out on hemodialysis patients who attended to the dialysis centers at al- Karama teachi

The researcher used the descriptive approach as more an appropriate method for the current study. The sample is composed of (200) educational supervisor. To collect study data, two scales have been used: one scale to measure the sensitivity to stress and the other to measure the positive mood. The results indicated that a high level of sensitivity to stress with low level of positive mood among educational supervisors, sensitivity to stress showed significant differences among the sample regarding to major. There is no correlation between sensitivity to stress and positive mood, and finally, there are no significant diffe

Methodology: A quasi-experimental design study conducing on (140) student purposely in four secondary schools at Al-sadder city (70) student for study group and (70) for control group. The prevalence of PMS selected through American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) (2015) criterias to select PMS students before program. The education program were set in four steps, the first step (pre-test) is to assess the knowledge , before the implementation of the program, the second step is implementing the program, following two steps post-test I and II between each test two weeks. Natural Bauxite (BXT) mineral clay was modified with a cationic surfactant (hexadecy ltrimethy lammonium bromide (BXT-HDTMA)) and characterized with different techniques: FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The modified and natural bauxite (BXT) were used as adsorbents for the adsorption of 4- Chlorophenol (4-CP) from aqueous solutions. The adsorption study was carried out at different conditions and parameters: contact time, pH value, adsorbent dosage and ionic strength. The adsorption kinetic (described by a pseudo-first order and a pseudo-second order), equilibrium experimental data (analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm models) and thermodynamic parameters (change in s
