Solidification Enhancement in a Triple-Tube Latent Heat Energy Storage System Using Twisted Fins

This work evaluates the influence of combining twisted fins in a triple-tube heat exchanger utilised for latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) in three-dimensional numerical simulation and comparing the outcome with the cases of the straight fins and no fins. The phase change material (PCM) is in the annulus between the inner and the outer tube, these tubes include a cold fluid that flows in the counter current path, to solidify the PCM and release the heat storage energy. The performance of the unit was assessed based on the liquid fraction and temperature profiles as well as solidification and the energy storage rate. This study aims to find suitable and efficient fins number and the optimum values of the Re and the inlet tem

Nanofluid-assisted enhanced sealing security for efficient geological hydrogen storage in Saudi Arabian basalt

The modification of hydrophobic rock surfaces to the water-wet state via nanofluid treatment has shown promise in enhancing their geological storage capabilities and the efficiency of carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) containment. Despite this, the specific influence of silica (SiO2) nanoparticles on the interactions between H2, brine, and rock within basaltic formations remains underexplored. The present study focuses on the effect of SiO2 nanoparticles on the wettability of Saudi Arabian basalt (SAB) under downhole conditions (323 K and pressures ranging from 1 to 20 MPa) by using the tilted plate technique to measure the contact angles between H2/brine and the rock surfaces. The findings reveal that the SAB's hydrophobicity intensif

Partial replacement of Chemical Fertilizers with Organic and Biofertilizers of Anabaena circcinalis and Oscillatoria lymentica in rice Fields.

A field experiment was carried out in the province of Najaf - al ashraf using two types of blue-green algae( Anabaena circinalis and Oscillaoria lymentica) which have been isolated and diagnosed in the laboratories of the department of plant protection / ministry of agriculture in Iraq with the compost( palm fronds ) manufacturer locally and by 1 ml : 10 g of organic matter within one month of cuddling and using a single level of humidity is 1 : 2 (water : organic matter). Randomized complete block design RCBD to see the effect of use it as a single or mix in the productivity of rice crop Yasamin cultivar where it was noted that it is equipped with a dynamic composting of organic matter leads to the analysis of organic material and incre

Simulation of underground storage / UM EL-Radhuma Formation-Ratawi field

The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of underground storage of gas in Um El-Radhuma formation /Ratawi field. This formation is an aquifer consisting of a high permeable dolomitebeds overlain by impermeable anhydrite bed of Rus formation. Interactive petrophysics (IP), Petrel REand Eclipse 100 softwares were used to conduct a well log interpretation, build a reservoir simulationmodel and predict the reservoir behavior during storage respectively. A black oil, three dimensionaland two phase fluid model has been used. The results showed that the upper part of Um El-Radhumaformation is suitable for underground gas storage, because of the seal of its cap rock and capability ofreserving gas in the reservoir. It was foun

Gas Sensitivity and Optical Detector of Indium Oxide films

In this research, we studied the structural and optical properties of  In2O3 films which prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis method on the glass substrate heated 400  . The effect of annealing temperature 100 for one hour on theses properties are studied. The result of Xray diffraction showed the prepared films were polycrystalline and orientation was (222) before and after annealing, optical properties study for prepared films by using (UV-VIS-NIR) spectrophotometer in the wave length range (300-1100)nm, We found the transmission increases after annealing to 90%. Sensitivity measurement of In2O3 films for gas (CO) and optical detector showed that after annealing at temperature 100 .

Theoretical Study and Modeling of Porous Silicon Gas Sensors

In this work ,porous silicon(PS) substrate has been used to fabricate a sensor of structures(Al/n PSi/n-Si/Al) using infrared laser in a assisting Etching process at several times (8,16,and24 min) and current density(J) of about(25mA/cm2) on silicon(Si) substrates type of n and tested for CO2 gas molecules and then modulated using MATLAB program. J-V characteristic was analyzed. Different parameter determine such as, Porosity (%), Layer thickness (%) and relative permittivity of the fabricated PS substrate. Several shape and sizes of pores were obtained from the scanning electron microscope device such as pore, rectangular and cylindrical structure for infrared illuminated (IR). The Porosity (%) and Layer thickness (%) take control on se

Thermal Osmosis of Mixtures of Water and Organic Compounds through Different Membranes

The present work aimed to study the efficiency of thermal osmosis process for recovery of water from organic wastewater solution and study the factors affecting the performance of the osmosis cell. The driving force in the thermo osmosis cell is provided by a difference in temperature across the membrane sides between the draw and feed solution. In this research used a cellulose triacetate (CTA), as flat sheet membranes for treatment of organic wastewater under orientation membrane of active layer facing feed solution (FS) and draw solution (DS) is placed against the support layer.  The organic materials were phenol, toluene, xylene and BTX (benzene, toluene, and xylene) used as feed solution. The osmotic agent in draw solution was

Linear and Non-Linear Optical Properties for Organic Semiconductor (CuPc) Thin Films

Thin films of CuPc of various thicknesses (150,300 and 450) nm have been deposited using pulsed laser deposition technique at room temperature. The study showed that the spectra of the optical absorption of the thin films of the CuPc  are two bands of absorption one in the visible region at about 635 nm, referred to as Q-band, and the second in ultra-violet region where B-band is located at 330 nm. CuPc thin films were found to have direct band gap with values around (1.81 and 3.14 (eV respectively. The vibrational studies were carried out using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Finally, From open and closed aperture Z-scan data non-linear absorption coefficient and non-linear refractive index have been calculated res
