Orange peel was used as a plant-derived medium to prepare a ZnO–calcite mixed-phase nanostructured material, which was physicochemically characterized and evaluated for DPPH radical-scavenging, α-glucosidase inhibitory, and in vitro cytotoxic activities. XRD confirmed the coexistence of hexagonal wurtzite ZnO and crystalline calcite, with ZnO apparent crystallite sizes ranging from 9.2 to 28.3 nm (mean 16.4 ± 7.3 nm). FTIR identified Zn–O vibrations, carbonate-related bands, surface hydroxyl groups, and residual organic functionalities, while FESEM revealed irregular agglomerates composed of nanoscale grains. EDX showed Zn, O, C, and Ca as the principal elements, and the material exhibited a zeta potential of -14.86 ± 0.52 mV in deionized water. The mixed-phase material showed concentration-dependent DPPH radical-scavenging activity, with an IC₅₀ of 24.64 µg/mL (95% CI: 22.61–26.79), compared with 28.91 µg/mL for ascorbic acid and 34.39 µg/mL for the orange peel extract. α-Glucosidase inhibition yielded an IC₅₀ of 0.2537 µg/mL (95% CI: 0.2251–0.2867), compared with 0.2067 µg/mL for acarbose. In MTT assays, the material showed IC₅₀ values of 100.0 µg/mL in HepG2 cells and 365.7 µg/mL in HDFn cells, corresponding to an SI of 3.66. These findings indicate preliminary differential cellular sensitivity together with measurable radical-scavenging and enzyme-inhibitory activities, while phase-specific mechanisms and biological safety require further investigation.
Abstract: To study the effect of nickel chloride on bone composition of mice, a number of biophysical and biochemical parameters have been made use. The animals were divided into control and experimental and further subdivided into three groups I, II and III according to the dose of nickel chloride (NiCl2) administered to them i.e. 5.8, 12.8 and 28.2 mg/kg body weight, respectively. Femur bones were obtained by sacrificing the animals three weeks after weaning them once a week. The percentage loss between the wet weight and dry weight of femur in control animals was found to be 32.5+1.5 .In the three experimental groups I,II and III, the percentage loss was 30.4+1.4, 35.3+2.3 and 38.9+2.2 respectively. The percentage loss between the wet we

In the preparation of ZnO nanostructure, zinc nitrate hexahydrate [Zn(NO3)2·6H2O] was used as a precursor. The structure and morphology of ZnO nanostructure have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD). The synthesized ZnO nanostructures have a hexagonal wurtzite structure. Also using Zeta potential and Particle Size Analyzers and size distribution of the ZnO powder
The cytotoxic effect of catechol was examined in two human cancer cell lines, Epidermoid larynx carcinoma (Hep- 2), Cerebral glioblastoma multiforme (AMGM-5) and Murine mammary adenocarcinomacell (AMN3) treated with half concentrations of catechol (1000, 500, 250, 125, 62.5 and 32.25 μM) for 72 hr. The get hold of results showed catechol have a toxic effect of the cell viability of three types of cell lines after 72h of exposure, the toxicity was dependent on catechol concentrations and/or autoxidation for quinines formation, there were a marked decreased of cell viability in a dose dependent manner in all cell line types. Inhibition concentration of catechol for 50% of cell viability (IC50) were calculated, they were at 581.5 μM, 478 μM

Tetradentate bidentate Schiff base (L1) from 4-amino-1.5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1.2-dihydropyrazol-3-one and 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-ethylamine and benzene-1.4-dicarbaldehyde was synthesized and characterized as novel antioxidants. The Schiff base and its metal complexes Mn(II), Co(II),Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Re(V) have been characterized by elemental microanalysis, metal content, chloride-containing, molar conductance, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, UVVis spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, mass spectra (MS), and thermal analysis (TGA). The structures of the prepared compounds were observed by antioxidant activities of the Schiff bases derivatives were investigated due to the imine group (-C=N-) and promising results were obtained. The power consumption of DCSK is high since it sends chaotic signal in both of 1 and 0 transmission, so it does not represent the optimal choice for some applications like indoor wireless sensing where power consumption is a critical issue. In this paper a novel noncoherent chaotic communication scheme called differential chaos on-off keying (DCOOK) is proposed as a solution of this problem. With the proposed scheme, the DCOOK signal have a structure similar to chaos on-off keying (COOK) scheme with improved performance in noisy and multipath channels by introducing the concept of differential coherency used in DCS

Colistin is now used as a last-line treatment for isolates that are highly resistant. The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of LptD; which is involved in the translocation of LPS from the inner membrane to the outer membrane in compartment with LptA and LptC of A. baumannii and its indispensable role as a virulence factor, and the efficiency of colistin as a monotherapy. In the current research, two isolates of A.baumannii were used, the local isolate HHR1 isolated from urine sample and the global strain ATCC 17904, and three antibiot
