Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory polyarithritic disease
associated with remission and exacerbation with different immunological
features.Rheumatoid factor(RF) screening test was used quantitatively and qualitatively
using an enzyme immunoassay (EIA), RF-isotypes (RF-IgG, RF-IgM, RF-IgA) ,
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) and Interleukin – 18 binding protein (IL-18BP) were detected
quantitatively usingenzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Results indicated a
51% positivity in RF among RA patients and a prevalence of the RF-isotype (RF-IgM)
with the highest level at (41.6±16.3 U/ml) (p < 0.05) among other RF-isotypes at a
percentage of 85.5% , results also indicatedan elevated serum level of IL-18

In the current research, we investigated the absorption spectrum for R590 and C480 dyes in ethanol solvent for different dye solution concentrations of 10-4, 10-5 and 10-6M. These dyes have been prepared and studied before and after gamma irradiation (first, second ionization) using cesium-137 source with absorbed doses of 18.36 Gy (time exposure of 10 days) and 73.44 Gy (with time exposure of 40 days). effective control measures.
Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the
using of impregnate bed nets in the control of
leishmaniasis.
Methods: The study was conducted throughout
the years 2004 and 2005, in Diala Governorate
(about 60km north-east Baghdad). This is the first
study in Iraq for evaluation of the impregnated bed
net in control of leishmaniasis. Two villages were
selected to achieve this aim. The nets were
distributed for the first village to be used by their
