Abstract<p>Tension caused by a lack of water (water stress or drought stress) represents the continuous and continuous threat to the survival of the plant, as many of the plants in which phenotypic or physiological modification takes place may not be able to continue and remain in the environment in which they live due to the water stress on it or the low soil moisture content. This of course is related to the prevailing weather conditions (lack of rain, high temperature, increased wind speed, low relative humidity in the atmosphere … etc.), so dry soil is defined as the shortage of soil water needed to the extent that its readiness for the plant decreases (that is, the threshold at which the plant cannot absorb Or drain the water at a speed that meets its requirements for vital activities, and photosynthesis that meets the requirements of evapotranspiration does not occur. Conversely, water tightening may be the result of increased water. An example of stretching as a result of increased water is flooding, which results in suffocation resulting from Reduced concentration of oxygen-prepared oxygen to the roots, which in turn will impair breathing. In general, tension due to a lack of water is the most common, which led specialists to call it “water deficit stress.” Because water tension occurs in natural environments as a result of rain entrapping, Such conditions are known as drought conditions and therefore drought stress is terme In laboratory conditions, water stress conditions can be achieved through the loss of water by transpiration from the leaves, a circumstance that is due to what is termed as a desiccation stress. That is, in the sense that water stress is one of the components of salt tension and osmotic tension, and in order to unify these differences according to the concept of water tension, it termed the concept of low water potential.</p>

Effects of Selenium Sources and Concentrations on the Performance, Meat Quality, and Tissue Properties of Broiler Chickens
...Show More Authors

We wanted to find out how selenium (Se) affects broiler chicken performance, meat physicochemical properties, and selenium deposition in the tissues of broilers. Each of the 96 experimental pens had 30 chickens and included a total of 2,880 one-day-old broilers (Cobb 500 strain). A factorial design of four-by-three (SY + SS) and eight replicates (SY + SS) was used for the 12 experimental treatments, with selenium levels ranging from 0.15 to 0.60 ppm and organic (SY) or inorganic (SS) sources of selenium and their relationship (SY + SS). There were no differences in performance (P > 0.05) across Se levels or sources. 106 g/day of ADFI, 63 g/day of ADG, and 1.6844 kg/kg of FCR were found to be the averaging values for these three parameters:

ThermodynamicProperties of Nicotinicacid in Dilute HCl and inaqueous NaCl solutions at (293.15, 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15)K
...Show More Authors

Apparent molar volume, V?, and viscosity B-coefficient of nicotinc acid in water and in aqueous NaCl solutions have been determined from density and viscosity measurements at (293.15, 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15) K. The experimental density data were evaluated by Masson equation, and the derived, apparent molar volume at infinite dilution, Vo?, and the slope Sv, were interpreted in term of solute-solvent and solute- solute interactions. Transfer apparent molar volumes at infinite dilution of nicotinic acid from water to NaCl solutions at various temperatures have been calculated. The viscosity data have been analyzed using Jones-Dole equation, and the derived parameters, Jones-Dolecoefficient, B,and Falkenhagen coefficient,A, have been also in

Assessment of tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukinـ10 in obese psoriatic patients before and after using apremilast
...Show More Authors

Background Psoriasis is one of the most prevalent chronic inflammatory skin conditions; its prevalence ranges from 1 to 3%. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), a cytokine that enhances inflammation, is overexpressed in synovium and skin plaques in psoriasis. TNF-α plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. IL-10 is the most crucial cytokine for reducing excessive immune responses and decreasing pro-inflammatory reactions in all autoimmune disorders.   Objective To evaluate the effect of Apremilast on ILـ10, TNFـα, and BMI in obese psoriatic patients.   Methods Thirty patients included in this investigative study to measure the concentrations of TNFـα, ILـ10 and BMI, before and after receiving Apremilast. TNFـα and

Abstract<p>This study was conducted in the Tissue Culture laboratory of the Horticultural Department of the Faculty of Agriculture at Karbala University to investigate the effects of a light source (Florescent, LED) and adenine sulfate (Ads) a 0, 40, 80, and 120 mg l-1 on the multiplication and rooting of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. Results showed there are which achieved a 100% response percentage for multiplication and rooting when the addition of adenine sulfate (Ads) under LED light especially a concentration of 120 mg l-1 significantly increased the Shoot height, Shoot number, Number of leaves, Chlorophyll content and fresh, Dry weight. The results showed that they h</p> ... Show More

Alice walker as an Activist and celebrator of Resistance in Meridian (1976) and The Color Purple (1982).
...Show More Authors

Alice Walker (1944) ranks among the greatest American writers of the twentieth century. Through her novels Meridian and the color Purple, Alice outlines many issues concerning the effect of authoritarian thinking upon its often innocent victims, and the possibility of meaningful, productive resistance. Walker's texts aim at giving a voice to those who have no voice especially those poor, rural black women who are robbed of power and the right to make decisions about their own lives by a range of forces standing against them. These texts also aim at clarifying how Walker's female protagonists, Meridian and Celia try to free themselves from oppression, misery , fear and underestimation

Preparation, Characterisation, and Photochemical Stability of Polymeric Derivatives of Polyvinyl Alcohol Grafted with Phthalic Anhydride and Dyes
...Show More Authors

In this study, derivatives of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) grafted with phthalic anhydride (PhA) and dyes were prepared to produce polymeric materials of PVA-g-PhA, PVA-g-PhA-anthocyanin, PVA-g-PhA-bromophenol blue, and PVA-g-PhAthymol blue. The materials were characterised by FTIR and 1 H NMR spectroscopies. The crystallinity of the polymers was evaluated with powder X-ray difraction, and the thermal stability by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The synthetic procedure for the polymeric materials entailed the formation of esters. The FTIR spectra of the polymers confrmed their formation since the ester carbonyl group stretch was observed at approximately 1691–1716  cm−1 in each material. NMR spectroscopy confrmed the addition of t

Natural Radioactivity in Soil and Bitumen in Al-Marj Spring and Abu-Jir Village, Anbar, Western Iraq
...Show More Authors

The aim of the present research is to illustrate γ-ray levels emitting from soil and bitumen producing from 238U, 232Th, and 40K along Abu-Jir Fault Zone. in the area extended from Al-Marj valley to Abu-Jir village using scintillometer device. Such study is important in environmental assessment to buildup data base about radioactivity. The concentration of natural radionuclides in the study area was determined to be occurring mostly in the clay minerals and organic matter. A high purity germanium spectrometer was used to detect the activity of these elements which ranged between 00.6±18.1- 1526±102, 0- 8.4±1.4, and 70.1±10.9- 328.2±73 in soil, and 28.2±5.6- 94±22.1, 0- 2.2±0.5, and 38.4±7.9- 70.1±10.9 in bitumen for 226Ra
