The New Schiff base ligand 4,4'-[(1,1'-Biphenyl)-4,4'-diyl,bis-(azo)-bis-[2-Salicylidene thiosemicarbazide](HL)(BASTSC)and its complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, FTIR, magnetic susceptibility measurements. The analytical and spectral data showed, the stiochiometry of the complexes to be 1:1 (metal: ligand). FTIR spectral data showed that the ligand behaves as dibasic hexadentate molecule with (N, S, O) donor sequence towards metal ions. The octahedral geometry for Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes and non electrolyte behavior was suggested according to the analysis data.
Some azo compounds were prepared by coupling the diazonium salts of amines with 2,4-dimethylphenol The structure of azo compounds were determined on the basis of elemental analyses, 1HNMR, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Complexes of nickel(II) and copper(II) have been synthesized and characterized. The composition of complexes has been established by using flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N) Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as conductivity magnetic susceptibility measurements. The nature of the complexes formed were studied following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law obeyed over a concentration range (1×10-4 - 3×10-4 M). High molar absorbtivity of the complex solutions were observ

The products were isolated, studied and characterized by physical measurements, ie,(FT-IR)„UV-Vis and the melting points were determined. The new Schiff base (L) has been used to prepare some complexes. The prepared complexes were identified and their structural geometry were suggested
In this research various of 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole (Schiff base, oxo-thiazolidine , and other compounds) were synthesized from 2,5-di(4,4?- amino-1,3,4-oxadiazole ) which use quently synthesized from mixture of 4-amino benzoic acid and hydrazine in the presence of polyphosphorus acid. The synthesized compounds were characterized by using some Spectral data (UV, FT-IR, and 1H-NMR).
A new series of Fe (III) , Co (II) , Ni (II) and Cu (II) complexes of the Schiff base, 5 (2-hydroxy benzylidine) -2-thio ether -1, 3, 4-thiadiazole were prepared and characterized .The imine behaves as a bidentate. The nature of bonding and the stereochemistry of the complexes were deduced from metal analyses, infrared, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, an octahedral geometry was suggested for all complexes except the copper complex has a square planar geometry .preliminary in vitro tests for antimicrobial activity show that all the prepared compounds except iron complex display good activity to gram positive Staphelococcus aures and gram negative Escherchia coli.
A new set of metal complexes by the general formula [M(P)2(H2O)2]Cl2 has been prepared through the interaction of the new Ligand [N1, N4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)succinamide] (P) derived from succinyl chloride with p-anisidine with the transition metal ions [Cu(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Co(II) and Ni(II)]. Compounds diagnosed by TGA, 1 H, 13CNMR and Mass spectra (for (P)), Fourier-transform infrared and Electronic spectrum, Magnetic measurement, molar conduct, (%M, %C, %H, %N). These measurements indicate that (P) is associated with the metal ion in a bi-dentate fashion by nitrogen atoms (the amide group), and the octahedral composition of these complexes is suggested. Staphylococcus Aureus (+) and Escherichia Coli (–) were studied for the antibact
... Show MoreThe Ligand 2-(4-nitrophenyl azo)-2,4-dimethylphenol derived from 4-nitroaniline and 2,4-dimethylphenol was synthesized. The prepared ligand was identified by FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Treatment of the ligand with the following metal ions ( CuII , ZnII ,CdII and HgII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio. Characterization of these compounds has been done on the basis of FT-IR and UV-Vis, as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. On the basis of physicochemical data tetrahedral geometries were assigned for the complexes.
One of the most difficult tasks in modern medical societies is the process of identifying a cure for many infectious diseases caused by drug-resistant microbes. Therefore, it has become necessary to discover new compounds that work in this regard. The currently prepared Schiff base, derived from thiazole, has a biological activity against bacteria and biofilms and its activity increases when it is associated with copper, zinc and platinum ions and forms metal complexes. This study highlights the synthesis and evaluation of novel biological compounds as inhibitors of bacterial growth and biofilms. A three newly complexes are resulting from the reaction of a new Schiff base ligand (LC) with metal ions (Zn, Cu, Pt). The new ligand (LC)
