In this study, new derivatives of Schiff bases of 2-thio-5-aryl1,3,4-oxadiazole have been synthesized. The structures of these derivatives were characterized from their melting points, infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The Schiff bases derivatives were tested for inhibition of E-coli and were all found to be active.
The title compound, [Ru(C12H7Br2N2)2(CO)2], possesses a distorted octahedral environment about the Ru atom, with two cyclometallated 4,40-dibromoazobenzene ligands and two mutually cis carbonyl ligands. The donor atoms are arranged such that the N atoms are respectively trans to a carbonyl ligand and an aryl C atom. Comment The title compound, (I), has been prepared as a minor product of the reaction of Ru3(CO)12 and 4,40-dibromoazobenzene in refluxing n-octane; the major product is the cluster complex Ru3(3-NC6H4Br)2(CO)9 (Willis et al., 2005). Two strong (CO) absorptions at 2039 and 1991 cm1 in the IR spectrum of (I) are consistent with the presence of two mutually cis carbonyl groups. The crystal structure was investigated to ascertai

Show MoreOil flow lines are used to transport oil and its derivatives from a well over long distances, and because oil wells produce other potentially corrosive products, such as carbon dioxide and Hydrogen sulfide, it is necessary to take methods to protect the pipeline from corrosion. One of these methods is the use of corrosion inhibitors in this study. Prepare 5-acetyl-2-anilino-4-dimethylaminothiazole and test it as a corrosion inhibitor on a sample of the Rumaila flow line at a constant temperature 25°C in (3.5%) NaCl and (3.5%) KCl solution in the absence and presence of different concentrations of inhibitor (0 mM, 0.01 mM, 0.03 M, 0.05 mM). by using liner polarization (Tafel slope). Show MoreThe coordination ability of the azo-Schiff base 2-[1,5-Dimethyl-3-[2-(5-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-ethyl imino]-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-ylazo]-5- hydroxy-benzoic acid has been proven in complexation reactions with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) ions. The free ligand (LH) and its complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, determination of metal concentration, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, FTIR, Uv-Vis, (1H, 13C) NMR spectra, mass spectra and thermal analysis (TGA). The results confirmed the coordination of the ligand through the nitrogen of the azomethine, Azo group (Azo) and the carboxylate ion with the metal ions. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔE*, ΔH*, ΔS*, ΔG*and K are cal

Massive efforts have been focused on designing of new anticancer medications. One of these approaches is inhibiting histone deacetylase (HDAC) which have a major role in regulation of cellular epigenetic processes. The non- selectivity of HDAC inhibitors is the major limitation for their use, therefore, recent researches have been oriented toward introducing of selective(HDAC) inhibitors through inhibition of HDAC2 and HDAC6 enzymes. A set of pyrazoline derivatives was designed and virtually studied by means of molecular docking, ADME, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Compound 5 showed promising virtual binding affinity on the HDAC 2 and 6 inhibitors, and exhibited more in silico affinities to (4LXZ)& (5EEI) respectively than SAHA.
... Show MoreA Schiff base ligand (L) was used as primary ligand and potassium anthranilate (Anth) was used as the secondary ligand in the molar ratio M: L:2Anth to synthesize a new platinum(IV) mixed-ligand complex [Pt(L)(Anth)₂]Cl₂. The Schiff base ligand was synthesized by the condensation of 4-Aminoantipyrine with 4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde and was verified as a bidentate ligand. The UV-visible, FT-IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, CHN elemental analysis, molar conductance, chloride ion determination and melting point measurements were used to characterize the ligand and the complex. The results of the molar conductance showed that the electrolytic behavior was 1:2, where the two chloride ions were present outside the coordination sphere, while the spectroscopi

In this work, we focused on studying 1,4-naphthoquinones and their derivatives, and knowing the methods of preparing them using different auxiliary agents and forming derivatives containing heterocyclic rings, active groups and saturated rings containing heterogeneous elements . In addition, due to their strong antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer activity, 1,4-naphthoquinone compounds biological importance and are considered a source of various pharmaceutical compounds.
