A field experiment was carried out in one of the agricultural fields in Thi Qar governorate in Nasiriyah during the winter season 2017-2018 The aim was to investigate the effect of foliar application of seaweed extract on yield and quality of four varieties of broad bean .The design of field experiment was (RCBD) in factorial experiments with three replications in two factors. .The first factor included four broad bean cultivars (Luz de otono – Grano Violtto -local - Aquadols. ( The second factor included four sprayed extracts of the seaweed extract (1, 2, 3 and 4 g L -1) In addition to the comparison treatment in which the plants were sprayed with distilled water only. . The plants of the broad bean that were sprayed with seaweed extract at a concentration of 4 g L-1 were significantly higher in all the traits under study, Record The average of 329.70 g and 2.68 tons -1 and 29.09% for the the weight of 100 soft seeds and the total number of seeds and the proportion of protein in seeds sequentially The varieties showed a significant difference between them in most of the studied traits. The local cultivars exceeded 100 soft seeds and the percentage of carbohydrates in the seeds while Luz de otono outweighed the total number of seeds and the superiority of Aquadols in the percentage of protein in seeds. The overlap also showed a significant effect between the cultivars With the extract of seaweed, where the plants of the class Luz de otono, which was sprayed with extract of seaweed at a concentration of 4 g L-1, significantly increased the total seed yield by 3.16 tonne-1 In the proportion of protein, the superiority of Aquadolus, sprayed at a concentration of 4 g L-1, reached 32.99%..
The present study is concerned with studying the effect of aquatic plant Hydrella vorticellata with the concentration of 10 and 20 gm/2 K gm soil on percentage and growth rate of germinating seeds of Hordeum vulgare and Vicia faba. More overs, the quantitative amount of NPK in both tested plants and Hydrella vorticellata, are estimated as an organic fertilizer. In May 20th. 1985 two species of aphids were found on the roots of Vicia faba L. in Hammam region 30 Kilometer south of Mosul. Samples of these aphids were sent to the Commonwealth Institute of Entomology, London. ( No. 17002/9804 Asia ) and identified as being Smynthurodes betas westwood and Dysaphis crataegi (Kaltenbach) (APhididae : Homoptera). The first species was dominant. The latter species was also noticed on the roots of the common bishop's weed (Ammi majus L.) and on the wide carrot (Daucus carrota L.) of the family Umbelliferae (Bodenheimer & Swirski, 1957).
A filed experiment was carried out at one of the private farms at Al-Suwaira District, Wasit Governorate during the spring season 2021, in order to evaluate the effect of adding Fulyzme plus (biofertilizer) and the foliar application of green tea extract (organic nutrient) on growth and yield of pepper plant cv. An experiment was conducted at botanical garden of Department of Biology ,College of Education (Ibn-AL –Haitham ,University of Baghdad during winter season of 2010 -2011.The aim of prsent study is to investigate the effect of Garlic (Allium sativum) extract and root extract of Ginger(Ziniber officinale)in two concentration of both extracts (20% and 30%)on growth and yield of (Cicer arietinum).The result showed that both extracts increased plant hight ,Chlorophyl content ,relative growth rate (RGR).Absolute growth rate (AGR),seeds yield .seed weight average ,biological yield ,carbohydrate and protein percentages in seeds,in comparsim with control plants .
The effect of gamma radiation at the doses (0 , 5 , 10 or 15 ) Gray on the callus of four Triticum aestivum immature embryos genotypes (AL-Hashmiya , AL-Noor AL-Zahraa and AL-Mellad ) were studied . The fresh and dry weight for callus and shoot tips beside numbers and lengths of the shoots were used as indicators after 8 weeks . Results revealed that (AL-Noor and AL-Zahraa ) was superior by giving highest fresh and dry weight reached 274.2 and 269.2 mg and 26 and 24.3 mg respectively as compared with AL-Hashmiya and AL-Mellad.
