Background: Germ cell tumors are a rare heterogeneous group of cancers with high cure rates in the pediatric age group.
Objectives: To study the clinical and pathological features in a group of patients with germ cell tumors and to evaluate their outcomes.
Patients and methods: A record review was undertaken on a group of patients with germ cell tumor who were admitted to the Children Welfare Teaching Hospital in Baghdad during the years 2009 - 2015. Information on gender, age, clinical signs, pathological findings, treatment and overall survival rate were reviewed.

Many strains of lactic bacteria produce antimicrobial peptides of bacteriocins that are antibiotics used against pathogenic strains. The present work aimed to use a banana peels medium in the fermentation process to replace the commercial MRS medium for decreasing the cost of bacteriocins LAB production. Based on the result, banana peel was a cost-effective and viable alternative carbon source for the production and development of bacteriocin-producing Lactobacilli. The growth of lactobacilli in commercial MRS medium and Banana Peel medium showed no differences, therefore banana peel waste can be used to produce Lactobacilli bacteriocins. Lactobacillus strains grew exceptionally well at 37 C and pH 6.0.

Streptococcus mutans is one of the major cariogenic microbial flora. In an attempt to determine the mutagenic effect of diode laser on the viability and antibiotic sensitivity of this bacteria; A total of 30 samples were collected from dental caries. The isolates were identified using by conventional identification methods and confirmed using VITEK2 system. Twenty-one isolates were recorded as Streptococcus spp and ten of them were identified as Streptococcus mutans. Background: Congenital defects in continuity of the intestine are morphologically divided into either stenosis or atresia and constitute one of the most common causes of neonatal intestinal obstruction. 
Patients and methods: This is a prospective study for analyzing (60)neonates with jejunoileal atresia who were managed at Children Welfare Teaching Hospital in Baghdad over a three years peroid extending from 1st January 2004 to 1st January 2007.
