Implementation of a modified noise-free and noisy multistage quantum cryptography protocol using QISKIT
...Show More Authors

Classical cryptography systems exhibit major vulnerabilities because of the rapid development of quan tum computing algorithms and devices. These vulnerabilities were mitigated utilizing quantum key distribution (QKD), which is based on a quantum no-cloning algorithm that assures the safe generation and transmission of the encryption keys. A quantum computing platform, named Qiskit, was utilized by many recent researchers to analyze the security of several QKD protocols, such as BB84 and B92. In this paper, we demonstrate the simulation and implementation of a modified multistage QKD protocol by Qiskit. The simulation and implementation studies were based on the “local_qasm” simulator and the “FakeVigo” backend, respectively. The suggested multistage QKD applies different random commutative sets of Euler’s angles to the transmitted qubits. If Eve successfully hacked the Euler’s angles of a transmitted qubit, Bob will predict the hacking event because other bits apply different Euler’s angles. The commutative sets of Euler’s angles should be selected by a prior agreement between Alice and Bob. Our approach provides additional security proof for the multistage QKD protocol enabling safe public sharing of a sifted key between the sender and receiver

Statistical Modeling for Traffic Noise: The Case of Kirkuk City
...Show More Authors

The auditory system can suffer from exposure to loud noise and human health can be affected. Traffic noise is a primary contributor to noise pollution. To measure the noise levels, 3 variables were examined at 25 locations. It was found that the main factors that determine the increase in noise level are traffic volume, vehicle speed, and road functional class. The data have been taken during three different periods per day so that they represent and cover the traffic noise of the city during heavy traffic flow conditions. Analysis of traffic noise prediction was conducted using a simple linear regression model to accurately predict the equivalent continuous sound level. The difference between the predicted and the measured noise shows that

Design and Characterization of New Dinuclear Macrocyclic Dithiocarbamate Complexes by the Preparation of a Free Ligand Derived from Isopropylamine
...Show More Authors

The synthesis and structural characterization of new dithiocarbamate (DTC) ligand and some of its dinuclear transition metal complexes are described. The free dithiocarbamate ligand was prepared through several synthetic routes, including Schiff-base formation. The reaction of 2-aminopropane with terephthaldehyde leads to the formation of Schiff_base which is reduced by methanolic NaBH4 to the corresponding secondary diamine. Diamine( N,N'_ (1,4 phenylenebis (methylene)) bis(propan-2 amine)) reacts with (CS2) in a basic solution of (KOH) to provide the corresponding bis(dithiocarbamate) free_ligand, which undergoes complexation with the appropriate metal (II) chlori

Free will between Slavery and Freedom: A Study of Linda Brent in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs
...Show More Authors

Harriet Jacobs was a writer and a reformer. As a female writer in the nineteenth century, Jacobs wrote her narrative as a means of resisting the system of slavery. She wrote her book Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl: Written by Herself, (1842) to reflect upon the exploitation of the black people and the need to change the hierarchal attitude that governs white/black relations. She was engaged in many abolitionist events and her anti-slavery approach appeared clearly in her writings. She shares Du Bios ideas about freedom and emancipation and the need for a political and cultural change. Thus, Du Bois’s theory provides a framework for her autobiographical novel where she portrays Linda Brent, the main character, a strong w

Implementation of a complex fractional order proportional-integral-derivative controller for a first order plus dead time system
...Show More Authors

This paper presents the implementation of a complex fractional order proportional integral derivative (CPID) and a real fractional order PID (RPID) controllers. The analysis and design of both controllers were carried out in a previous work done by the author, where the design specifications were classified into easy (case 1) and hard (case 2) design specifications. The main contribution of this paper is combining CRONE approximation and linear phase CRONE approximation to implement the CPID controller. The designed controllers-RPID and CPID-are implemented to control flowing water with low pressure circuit, which is a first order plus dead time system. Simulation results demonstrate that while the implemented RPID controller fails to stabi

Characterization of Delamination Effect on Free Vibration of Composite Laminates Plate Using High Order Shear Deformation Theory
...Show More Authors

A dynamic analysis method has been developed to investigate and characterize embedded delamination on the dynamic response of composite laminated structures. A nonlinear finite element model for geometrically large amplitude free vibration intact plate and delamination plate analysis is presented using higher order shear deformation theory where the nonlinearity was introduced in the Green-Lagrange sense. The governing equation of the vibrated plate were derived using the Variational approach. The effect of different orthotropicity ratio, boundary condition and delamination size on the non-dimenational fundamental frequency and frequency ratios of plate for different stacking sequences are studied. Finally th

Design and Implementation of a Moving Robot Equipped with an Arm and an FPGA to Deliver Objects between Two Positions
...Show More Authors
Abstract
In this paper a system is designed and implemented using a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to move objects from a pick up location to a delivery location. This transportation of objects is done via a vehicle equipped with a robot arm and an FPGA. The path between the two locations is followed by recognizing a black line between them. The black line is sensed by Infrared sensors (IR) located on the front and on the back of the vehicle. The Robot was successfully implemented by programming the Field Programmable Gate Array with the designed system that was described as a state diagram and the robot operated properly.

A Modified Hestenes-Stiefel Conjugate Gradient Method and its Global convergence for unconstrained optimization
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we proposed a modified Hestenes-Stiefel (HS) conjugate
gradient method. This achieves a high order accuracy in approximating the second
order curvature information of the objective function by utilizing the modified
secant condition which is proposed by Babaie-Kafaki [1], also we derive a nonquadratic
conjugate gradient model. The important property of the suggestion
method that is satisfy the descent property and global convergence independent of
the accuracy of the line search. In addition, we prove the global convergence under
some suitable conditions, and we reported the numerical results under these
conditions.
