The synthesis of complexes for (Ca+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, Zn+2, Cd+2 and Hg+2) with new ligand (5-C-dimethyl malonyl-pentulose-γ-lactone-2,3-enedibenzoate) (L) have been successfully prepared and characterized by (1H and 13CNMR, FTIR, (U.V-Vis) spectroscopy, Atomic absorption spectrophotometer (A.A.s), Molar conductivity measurements and Magnetic moment measurements, and the following general formula has been given for the prepared complexes [M(L)Cl2] where M = (Ca+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, Zn+2, Cd+2, Hg+2),  L = (5-C-dimethyl malonyl-pentulose-γ-lactone-2,3-enedibenzoate).

High performance liquid chromatography was applied for the separation and identification of four antharquinone derivatives, aloe emodin, emodin, chrysophanol and physcion. Model birefringence was measured for elliptical-core fibers with low ellipticities, note the birefringence depends strongly on the frequency, especially when fiber is being operated near the higher mode cutoff where ν  for circular fiber of the single-mode type that correspond to the birefringence maximum. When ν  this also correspond to the birefringence maximum that can be introduced in an elliptical core fiber while still operating in the single-mode regime near the higher mode cutoff. Also the birefringence is proportional to the fiber core ellipticity when core ellipticity is much less than unity, but this birefringence deviates from the linear for the large core ellipticities.

A simple, economical and selective method employing ion pair dispersive liquid−liquid microextraction (DLLME) coupled with spectrophotometric determination of carbamazepine (CBZ) in pharmaceutical preparations and biological samples was developed. The method is based on reduction of Mo(VI) to Mo(V) using a combination of ammonium thiocyanate and ascorbic acid in acidic medium to form a red binary Mo(V) thiocyanate complex. After addition of CBZ to the complex, extraction of the formed CBZ−Mo(V)−(SCN)6 was performed using a mixture of methylene chloride and methanol.
