Preparation, kinetics, and thermodynamic investigation of Janus green dye removal from aqueous solutions using MnO2 nanoparticles as an adsorbent
...Show More Authors

In this study, manganese dioxide (MnO₂) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized via the hydrothermal method and utilized for the adsorption of Janus green dye (JG) from aqueous solutions. The effects of MnO₂ NPs on kinetics and diffusion were also analyzed. The synthesized NPs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), with XRD confirming the nanoparticle size of 6.23 nm. The adsorption kinetics were investigated using three models: pseudo-first-order (PFO), pseudo-second-order (PSO), and the intraparticle diffusion model. The PSO model provided the best fit (R² = 0.999), indicating that the adsorption process is chemical in nature. Kinetic analysis revealed that the MnO₂ surface exhibited faster adsorption kinetics during the film diffusion step (rate constant 0.2776) compared to intraparticle diffusion (0.0042) at 298.15 K. Thermodynamic parameters, including enthalpy change (∆H*), entropy change (∆S*), and Gibbs free energy change (∆G*) of activation, were calculated from the Eyring equation to be 37.48 kJ/mol and -144.69 J/mol, respectively. The positive ∆G* value (80.62 kJ/mol) suggests that the adsorption process is energy-intensive, requiring higher energy to form chemical bonds between JG and MnO₂ nanoparticles. Preparation, Characterization and Antibacterial Activity of some New Oxazolidin-5-one Derivatives Derived from Imine Compounds
...Show More Authors

In this research, 5- membered heterocyclic compounds as oxazolidine-5-one J1-J5 derivatives were prepared using primary aromatic amine, aromatic carbonyl compounds and chloroacetic acid. By combining primary aromatic amines and aromatic carbonyl compounds, Schiff's bases were synthesized. Schiff bases are used with the chloroacetic acid compound to prepare oxazolidine-5-one J1-J5 derivatives. The compounds J1-J5 were described using NMR spectroscopy and FT-IR. .The biological efficacy was evaluated according to maximum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) toward Staphyloccoccus aureus and Esherichia coli. The best MIC was 210 μg ml-1 for J4 against the two pathogenic bacteria, while J1, J4, and J1 did not show any inhibitory effect against all

Exact solutions for MHD flow of a viscoelastic fluid with the fractional Burgers’ model in an annular pipe
...Show More Authors

This paper presents an analytical study for the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of a generalized Burgers’ fluid in an annular pipe. Closed from solutions for velocity is obtained by using finite Hankel transform and discrete Laplace transform of the sequential fractional derivatives. Finally, the figures are plotted to show the effects of different parameters on the velocity profile.

Removal of Dissolved Organic Compounds and Contaminants from Wastewater of a Petroleum Refinery by Ion Exchange
...Show More Authors

The efficient removal of dissolved organic compounds (DOC) from wastewater has become a major environmental concern because of its high toxicity even at low concentrations. Therefore, a technique was needed to reduce these pollutants. Ion exchange technology (IE) was used with AmberliteTM IR120 Na, AmberliteTM IR96RF, and AmberliteTM IR402, firstly by using anion and mixed bed system, where the following variables are investigated for the process of adsorption: The height of the bed in column (8,10 and 14 cm), different concentrations of (DOC) content at constant flow rate. The use of an ion exchanger unit (continuous system) with three columns (cation, anion, and mixed bed) was studied.

An Experimental Investigation on Fatigue Properties of AA3003-H14 Aluminum alloy Friction Stir Welds
...Show More Authors

AA3003-H14 aluminum alloy plates were welded by friction stir welding and TIG welding.
Fatigue properties of the welded joints were evaluated based on the superior tensile properties for
FSW at 1500 rpm rotational speed and 80 mm/min welding speed. However, there is not much
information available on effect of welding parameters with evolution of fatigue life of friction stir
welds. The present study experimentally analyzed fatigue properties for base, FSW, and TIG welds
of AA 3003-H14 aluminum alloy. Fatigue properties of FSW joints were slightly lower than the
base metal and higher than TIG welding.

Preparation CuInSe2 (CIS) by arrested precipitation method as alight absorption layer of photovoltaic solar-cells
...Show More Authors

The CuInSe2 (CIS) nanocrystals are synthesized by arrested precipitation from molecular precursors are added to a hot solvent with organic cap- ping ligands to control nanocrystal formation and growth. CIS thin films deposited onto glass substrate by spray - coating, then selenized in Ar- atmosphere to form CIS thin films. PVs were made with power conversion efficiencies of 0.631% as -deposited and 0.846% after selenization, for Mo coated, under AM 1.5 illumination. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis it is evident that CIS have the chalcopyrite structure as the major phase with a preferred orientation along (112) direction and the atomic ratio of Cu : In : Se in the nanocrystals is nearly 1 : 1 : 2

Evaluation and effectiveness of sulfur nanoparticles against colon cancer prepared from capsicum plant extract
...Show More Authors

Objective: Using green chemistry, an effective, inexpensive, and environmentally safe method, sulfur nanoparticles with specific properties can be prepared and used in nanotechnology. This research aimed to prepare sulfur nanoparticles from chilli pepper extract and determine their effectiveness against colon cancer. Method: Chilli pepper extract obtained from local markets was treated with aqueous sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O7.5H2O). After mixing, it was continuously stirred, heated, and filtered. NaBH4 was then added, resulting in a yellow precipitate. The precipitate was centrifuged, purified, and dried at 250°C. Results: Standardised tests such as UV-Vis, XRD, SEM, TEM, AFM, and EDX were used, resulting in sulfur nanoparticles with an av

Anticorrosion, antimicrobial and antioxidant study of ZnO nanoparticles synthesized from Punica granatum (Pomegranate) extract
...Show More Authors

Metal and metal oxide NPs have shown to be perfectly synthesized by using plant extracts with high efficiency, low cost and low toxicity. Our goal was to synthesize ZnO NPs by using an extract of pomegranate seeds and investigate the anticorrosion, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of the synthesized ZnO NPs. The results have shown that the use of pomegranate in the green synthesis of ZnO NPs gave a good yield, with a low cost and non-toxic approach. The electrophoretic deposition (EPD) was used to coat stainless steel (S.S) by synthesized ZnO NPs in an alcoholic solution at room temperature producing a good coating against corrosion. The corrosion properties were investigated in a saline solution and a temperature range of (293–32
