A study was carried out to determine the concentrations of trace metals in vegetables and fruits, which are locally available in the markets of Baghdad-samples of fourteen varieties of vegetables and fruits, belonging to Beta vulgaris, Brassica rapa, Daucus carota, Allium cepa, Eurica sativa, Malva silvestris, Coriandrum Sativum, Trigonella Foenum craecum, Anethum graveolens, Barassica oleracea, Phaseolus vulgaris, citrus reticulata, Py rus malus, and Punica granatum. Analysis for Cd,Pb, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn were determined by flame atomic absorption sp ectrophotometry. The results indicated that the Malva silvestris recorded the highest concentrations of Cd and Mn while Allium cepa showed the highest concentrations of Pb and Cu. But Eurica sativa, Anethum graveolens, phaseolus vulgaris and Daucus carota were observed the highest values of Fe, Co, Ni and Zn respectively. It can be noticed that the zinc has the highest values while the nickel recorded the lowest values in all studied samples.

Six ERI profiles using Wenner Schlumberger array were carried out at Baghdad University (ALJadiriya campus) to investigate soil at two sites. The spacing between electrodes of four profiles surrounding the new building in the Campus at the first site is 1 m, and the profile length ranges from 50 to 90 m. In comparison, two across profiles in the garden to detect water seepage in the site. The inverted model of the studied profiles shows many high and low resistivity zone. The accuracy of IRI- 2012 and VOACAP models during high solar activity level have been tested to know which of them is more accurate in predicting hourly foF2 values for three Iraqi cities (Baghdad, Mosul and Basrah). The results indicated that the accuracy of them increases for all hours during Spring and Summer and decreases during Winter and Autumn especially at hours near to sunrise; i.e., both of two models have the same accuracy. And that the foF2 values predicted by VOACAP model are higher than that predicted by IRI- 2012 model for all seasons.
