This study includes isolation , purification and identification of algae from different
aquatic environments in Baghdad.
Two different plant species belonging to different families were selected which were
Citrilluscolocynthus and Cordiamyxa for their fruits and fruits samples respectively.
Crude extracts were extracted from each plant and their antialgal activity were
evaluated.Different concentrations (5,15,25) mg/ml of these extracts were prepared
and their antagonistic activity was studied, and the resulted inhibition effects in ( %)
of concentration of chlorophyll(a) after 12 days was evaluated.
Results showed that Chloroccumhumicola was the most sensitive to these extracts.

   Petioles of nine species and four subspecies for Scutellaria L. which are growing wildly in Iraq were studied anatomically. Systmatic importance for the cross sections of those petioles were found. The winged petioles were seen in all taxa but they were different in their shapes , some of them U – shaped but they were semi ellipsoid in others , also they were different in their numbers of vascular bundles in the wings , and the shapes of central vascular bundles , so those  taxa were divided into groups .

     The electrical resistivity method is one of the geophysical methods for detecting weak subsurface zone. The 2D resistivity data were used to compare three electrode configurations, Wenner, Dipole-dipole, and Schlumberger, to detect weak subsurface zones along a profile south of Baghdad near the Bismayah pumping station. A new simple sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method has been
developed for the analysis of vanadium(V) in three randomly chosen samples from
river water at different locations by continuous flow injection analysis. The method
based on the oxidation of pyrogallol by vanadium(V) in acidic solution to form color
species and the same species was determined using homemade Ayah 6SX1-T-2D
