The Multi-Period Probabilistic Inventory Model Applied at the General Company for Leather Industries
...Show More Authors

In this research, the multi-period probabilistic inventory model will be applied to the stores of raw materials used in the leather industry at the General Company for Leather Industries. The raw materials are:Natural leather includes cowhide, whether imported or local, buffalo leather, lamb leather, goat skin, chamois (raw materials made from natural leather), polished leather (raw materials made from natural leather), artificial leather (skai), supplements which include: (cuffs - Clocks - hands - pockets), and threads. This model was built after testing and determining the distribution of demand during the supply period (waiting period) for each material and completely independently from the rest of the materials, as none of the above materials is affected by the other in the supply process. This testing was done using the statistical package program, and then the optimal order quantity that was requested in each batch and for each item is determined, which is known as the optimal economic size of the order, and the reorder point was determined for each item. After that, the total storage costs were compared between the method used in managing stores in this factory and the model that was built, as the cost of using the probabilistic model was less than the method used by the company in managing the demand.

Toxic and Antifeedant Effects of Different Pesticidal Plant Extracts against Beet Armyworm (<i>Spodoptera exigua</i>)
...Show More Authors

The beet armyworm (BAW), Spodoptera exigua (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a highly destructive pest of vegetables and field crops. Management of beet armyworm primarily relies on synthetic pesticides, which is threatening the beneficial community and environment. Most importantly, the BAW developed resistance to synthetic pesticides with making it difficult to manage. Therefore, alternative and environment-friendly pest management tactics are urgently required. The use of pesticidal plant extracts provides an effective way for a sustainable pest management program. To evaluate the use of pesticidal plant extracts against BAW, we selected six plant species (Lantana camara, Aloe vera, Azadirachta indica, Cymbopogon citratus, Nicotiana tabacum ,

Effective quality control of a municipal wastewater treatment plant using Geographic information systems: A Review
...Show More Authors

Inefficient wastewater disposal and wastewater discharge problems in water bodies have led to increasing pollution in water bodies.  Pollutants in the river contribute to increasing the biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (SS), total dissolved solids (TDS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and toxic metals render this water unsuitable for consumption and even pose a significant risk to human health. Over the last few years, water conservation has been the subject of growing awareness and concern throughout the world, so this research focused on review studies of researches that studied the importance of water quality of wastewater treated disposal in water bodies and modern technology to management w

Voices of Feminism in Monica Ali’s Brick Lane
...Show More Authors

This paper explores the feminist voices in Monica Ali’s novel Brick Lane, focusing on the character development of Nazneen as she evolves from a compliant, dependent wife into a self-reliant, empowered individual. The analysis highlights how Nazneen’s journey toward financial independence through her sewing work plays a critical role in her personal transformation. The paper also examines the impact of female support networks on her empowerment, alongside the cultural obstacles she encounters as an immigrant woman living in London. Using feminist theory, this study discusses the complex interplay between culture, gender, and identity, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of women’s empowerment in a diverse cultural setting. Economic Stability and Its Role in Achieving Inclusive Growth in Iraq
...Show More Authors

Abstract: This research aims to investigate and analyze the most pressing issues facing the Iraqi economy, namely economic stability and inclusive growth Consequently, the present study investigates the effect of inflation and unemployment, which are significant contributors to economic instability, on inclusive growth dimensions such as GDP, education, health, governance, poverty, income inequality, and environmental performance. From 1991 to 2021, secondary data were collected using World Bank Indicators (WDI) and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) databases. The researchers also employed the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model to determine the relationship between variables. The study revealed that fluct

The aim of this research is to study and test the impact of the policy of open-book accounting as one of the cost management mechanisms in achieving the competitive advantage in Jordanian industrial public companies, to achieve the objectives of the study, a field study was conducted by surveying the views of a sample of the accountants of the Jordanian industrial public companies. Hence the arithmetical Means, the Standard Deviations, the Significant Value and the Simple Linear Regression are used to test the research hypotheses and to achieve the research goals. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant effect of the policy of open-book accounting as one of the cost management mechanisms in achieving the

Reinforcement Learning-Based Television White Space Database
...Show More Authors

Television white spaces (TVWSs) refer to the unused part of the spectrum under the very high frequency (VHF) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) bands. TVWS are frequencies under licenced primary users (PUs) that are not being used and are available for secondary users (SUs). There are several ways of implementing TVWS in communications, one of which is the use of TVWS database (TVWSDB). The primary purpose of TVWSDB is to protect PUs from interference with SUs. There are several geolocation databases available for this purpose. However, it is unclear if those databases have the prediction feature that gives TVWSDB the capability of decreasing the number of inquiries from SUs. With this in mind, the authors present a reinforcement learning-ba

Organic Solid Waste in Vessel Composting System
...Show More Authors

Low-level microbial activity due to the production of organic acids is a recognized problem during the initial phase of food waste composting. Increasing such activity levels by adjusting the pH values during the initial composting phase is the primary objective to be investigated. In this study, sodium acetate (NaoAc) was introduced as an amendment to an in-vessel composting system. NaoAc was added when the pH of the compost mixture reached a low level (pH < 5), the addition increased pH to 5.8. This had a positive effect on the degradation of organic materials i.e. the formation of methane gas compared to the results without NaoAc addition.

The results also proved that anaerobic-aerobic in-vessel composting could reduce the
