The coagulation and flocculation process using coated magnetic nanoparticles is considered one of the effective technologies for turbidity removal. This study investigates an application of magnetic nanoparticles coated with citric acid in the coagulation and flocculation process on Tigris River water in Baghdad, Iraq. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNP1) were synthesized by the co-precipitation method and coated with citric acid (MNP2). The prepared MNP1 and MNP2 were characterized by XRD, FTIR, AFM, FE-SEM, EDS, and zeta potential analysis. For coagulation process, the effect of different types of coagulants (alum, FeCl3, MNP1, MNP2), coagulant dosage (10–110 mg/l), and initial pH (3–9) were examined in this work. The best coagulant was MNP2 with zeta potential of -34.04 mV. The maximum removal efficiency for MNP2 at optimum dosage of 30 mg/l dosage was 96.72%. This value corresponds to the best value of initial pH of 6.
The reaction of methyldopa with o-vanillin in refluxing ethanol afforded Schiff base and characterized through physical analysis with a number of spectra also the study of biological activity. The geometry of the Schiff base was identified through using (C.H.N) analysis, Mass, 1H-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy. Metal complexes of Cr3+, Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+ with Schiff base have been prepared in the molar ratio 2:1 (Metal:L), (L = Schiff base ligand) except Hg2+ at molar ratio 1:1 (Hg:L). The prepared complexes were characterized by using Mass, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectral studies, on other than magnetic properties and flame atomic absorption, conductivity measurements. According to the results a dinuclear octahe

Azo dye compounds have been characterized by different techniques (1H-NMR, UV-Vis and FT-IR). Metal chelates of (ZnII, CdII and HgII) have been synthesized with azo ligand (L). Produced compounds have been identified by using spectral studies, elemental analysis(C.H.N.) and conductivity. Produced metal chelates were studied using mole ratio as well sequences contrast types. Rate of concentration(1×10-4-3×10-4 Mole/L) sequence Beer's law. Compound solutions have been noticed height molar absorptivity. Adenosine deaminase (ADA), an enzyme essential for the differentiation of lymphoid cells, has been used for monitoring diseases with altered immunity. In the present study we investigated the effect of regular and irregular administered folic acid in the first and second trimester of pregnancy to be compared with non-pregnant women ,and also the effect of regular and irregular using of folic acid supplement on oxidative stress parameters an

The amino triazine derivatives were characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR), 1HNMR and mass spectroscopy. The liquid crystalline properties of these compounds were examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM). DSC and POM confirmed nematic (N) and columnar mesophase textures of the materials. The formation of mesomorphic properties was found to be dependent on the number of methylene unit in alkoxy side chains.
In this study, a proposed process for the utilization of hydrogen sulphide separated with other gases from omani natural gas for the production of sulphuric acid by wet sulphuric acid process (WSA) was studied. The processwas simulated at an acid gas feed flow of 5000 m3/hr using Aspen ONE- V7.1-HYSYS software. A sensitivity analysis was conducted to determine the optimum conditions for the operation of plant. This included primarily the threepacked bed reactors connected in series for the production of sulphur trioxidewhich represented the bottleneck of the process. The optimum feed temperature and catalyst bed volume for each reactor were estimated and then used in the simulation of the whole process for tw
