Evaluation of Flat Fan Nozzles Operating Parameters Under Conditions of Accelerated Boundary and Destructive Wear
Abstract<p>Two tests were carried out to measure the standard flat fan nozzles wear during a specific period of an accelerated wear procedure. The first test aimed at getting 10% increase in the flow rate compared to the nominal flow rate, which is the threshold to replace the nozzles according to the nozzles testing standards. The second test was to wear the nozzles intensively (100 hours of accelerated wear), which represents the use of nozzles beyond the allowed threshold. The results showed that the flow rate reached 1.31 l·min−1 (equal to 10% increase) for the tested nozzles after 35 hours of the wear test. For the second test, the 10% increase of the flow rate was reached after approximately 30 hours. The wear rate reached 27.5% at the end of the test and this is 2.7 times more than the standardized threshold.</p>

Theoretical Design of Electrostatic Lens Accelerating and Decelerating Operated Under Different Magnification Conditions

In this paper,  design computationl investigation in the field of charged-particle optics with the aid of numerical analysis methods  under the absence of space charge effects. The work has been concentrated on the design of three-electrode  einzel electrostatic  lens accelerating and decelerating operated under different magnification conditions.     The potential field distribution of  lens has been represented by exponential function.  The paraxial-ray equation has been solved for the proposed field to determine the trajectory of charged-particles traversing in the lens.  From The axial  potential distribution and its first and second derivatives, the optical propertie

Study the Effect of Fuel Pressure on the Operating and Phases Parameters For PF400J Dense Plasma Focus Device

Theoretical calculations are achieved to study the effect of different deuterium pressures on various characteristics parameters for PF400J plasma focus using an international computer code.  Axial and radial velocities, voltage tube, plasma temperatures, and neutron yields at different operating deuterium pressures are computed. Neutron emission has been calculated in the device.  The maximum total neutron yield calculated is of the order of  and  neutrons per shot for entire pressure used. The computed results agree reasonably well with the published neutron yield curves.

COMPARISON OF ALFALFA WEEVIL POPULATIONS UNDER EPIZOOTIC AND ENZOOTIC CONDITIONS OF ERYNIAPHYTONOMI IN WISCONSIN

Comparisons of two life tables constructed to display alfaifa weevil Hypera posticoa (Gryllenhal), populations in southeentral Wisconsin, U. S. A. under epizootic and enzootic conditions of fungal diseasea, caused by Erynia phytonomi Arthur suggests that the “prepupal” stage provided the greates contribution to population changes under both conditions due to the high mortality rate. The principle mortality agents during this stage are E. phytonomi and the parasitoids complex of Bathyp1ectes curculionis and Buthyp1ectes anurus respectively under the two condition.

Reconstruction of Timewise Dependent Coefficient and Free Boundary in Nonlocal Diffusion Equation with Stefan and Heat Flux as Overdetermination Conditions

The problem of reconstruction of a timewise dependent coefficient and free boundary at once in a nonlocal diffusion equation under Stefan and heat Flux as nonlocal overdetermination conditions have been considered. A Crank–Nicolson finite difference method (FDM) combined with the trapezoidal rule quadrature is used for the direct problem. While the inverse problem is reformulated as a nonlinear regularized least-square optimization problem with simple bound and solved efficiently by MATLAB subroutine lsqnonlin from the optimization toolbox. Since the problem under investigation is generally ill-posed, a small error in the input data leads to a huge error in the output, then Tikhonov’s regularization technique is app

Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel in Hydrochloric Acid under Dynamic Conditions

In this work, studying the effect of ethylenediamine as a corrosion inhibitor was investigated for carbon steel in aerated HCl solution in range of 0.1-1N under dynamic conditions, i.e., rotational velocity of 400–1200 rpm in the temperature range 35 – 65 ºC.  Weight loss method was employed in absence and presence of the inhibitor as an adsorption type in concentration range 1000 – 5000 ppm using rotating cylinder specimens. The experimental results showed that corrosion rate in absence and presence of inhibitor is increased with increasing temperature, rotational velocity and concentration of acid. It is decreased with increasing inhibitor concentration for the whole range of temperature, rotational velocity and concentrati

Design of Electrostatic immersion Lens Accelerating Operated Under Zero Magnification Conditions

Theoretical study computerized has been carried out in electron optics field, to design electrostatic immersion lens , the inverse problem is important method in the design of electrostatic lenses by suggesting an axial electrostatic potential distribution using polynomial function. The paraxial –ray equation is solved to obtain the trajectory particles that satisfy the suggested potential function. In this research, designed immersed lens length L = 10mm operated under zero condition, as it was obtained the electrode shape of this lens solutions using the Laplace equation The results of the search showed low values of spherical and chromatic aberrations, which gives a good indication of the design of the lens.   It was

AXIAL FAN BEARING SYSTEM VIBRATION ANALYSIS

Rotating fan shaft system was investigated experimentally and theoretically to study its dynamic performance. The type of oil used for the bearing was taken in consideration during the experimental program .Three types of oil were used, SAE 40, SAE 50 and degraded oil. During the experiments, the fan blades stagger angle was changed through angles (20˚, 30˚, 40˚, and 50˚). The shaft rotational speed also changed in the range of (0-3000 rpm). All these parameters have investigated for two cases (balanced and unbalanced fan). The performance parameters of the fan were found experimentally by measuring the fan, volume flow rate, Reynolds and Strouhal numbers, efficiency and pressure head. Analytical part was also represented to prepare

Chromium Ions Removal by Capacitive Deionization Process – Optimization of the Operating Parameters with Response Surface Methodology

An innovative desalination method called electrosorption or capacitive deionization (CDI) has significant benefits for wastewater treatment. This process is performed by using a carbon fiber electrode as a working electrode to remove hexavalent chromium ions from an aqueous solution. The pH, NaCl concentration, and cell voltage were optimized using the Box-Behnken experimental design (BDD) in response surface methodology (RSM) to study the effects and interactions of selected variables. To attain the relationship between the process variables and chromium removal, the experimental data were subjected to an analysis of variance and fitted with a quadratic model. The optimum conditions to remove Cr(VI) ions were: pH of 2, a cell voltage of 4.
